| Took these two models out on a photo trip in fantastic sunny weather. This Percheron horse model was number 2106 in the Britains Farm animals line. It was made in PVC plastic and introduced to the range in 1972. It was first illustrated in the Britains 1972 catalogue under the New Farm Models banner. This model was finally withdrawn in 1992. Marked on the belly area: (c) BRITAINS LTD 1972 ENGLAND This wonderful colt model was number 2122 in the Britains Farm animals line. Again made in PVC plastic this was introduced to the range in 1970. However, the pose wasn't illustrated until the Britains 1972 catalogue. In the 1970 and 1971 catalogues the previous pose was pictured. This model was replaced in 1993. Marked on the belly area: (c) BRITAINS LTD 1970 ENGLAND I thought they would look great together as a mother and son image and below are the two images I took: _________________ Chris

Many thanks Christophe For the record the photo gear I used was a Micro 4/3 camera with a 60mm macro lens with apertures at either f5 or f5.6. _________________ Chris |

Thank you Taos - I will keep a look out for these other versions. The models pictured are from my daughter's collection which she had when see was child. Now she is older she gave them all to me. _________________ Chris |

| Your daughter kept them well. There were three different moulds for this horse: one without headgear (the one in your picture), one with headgear and one with headgear and a peg for a rider. The horse with rider wasn't shown in the catalogues until 1975 (where it appeared in a riding box set) and looks to have continued in this box until 1978. I am fairly sure that the horse without head gear is earlier than the one with. I wonder whether the headgear might have been added when they took the horse with rider out of production. |

| She certainly did Roger.
I will have to look out for the variations you mention. _________________ Chris |
