Question about the Old Molds of figures Black Labrador 16327 and 16307 St Bernard Dogs Empty
PostSubject: Question about the Old Molds of figures Black Labrador 16327 and 16307 St Bernard Dogs    Question about the Old Molds of figures Black Labrador 16327 and 16307 St Bernard Dogs EmptyFri Apr 22, 2011 5:34 am

I have looked at the Gaschers Collector Guide for Schleich animals at the St Bernard 16307 and the Black Labrador 16327 and want to know what is the difference in the Old Molds from the other mold. Does anyone have an example and explanation on how to tell them apart?

Are the new molds glossy paint vs matte finish? Is there a different year number on the underside of the dogs?

Does anyone who knows the answer have photos to show us all?

Thanks,

flower ~ Sue

It is hard to see if you don`t have them both in your hand.
And as they are black it is difficult to take pictures, but I have tried here :

The rare one (left) is more sturdyly built, broader body, wider head :

Her the head trom the top, the rare one to the right:

But seen from the side, the rare one( right) has more "flat" nose :

PS : The more shiny ones were the last ones they made ( in my experience), but the "new" model was made in matte version for several years.

PPS, there was a previous string about the Bernhard, I can`t find it now . scratch
It seems we could not agree here on the forum Laughing Laughing

I agree with Peter, - there is a difference between 16307 (from `96 to ´08) and 16307-1 (from `94-´96)

One of them is more beige than the other and has a darker mask.
But they do overlap a bit, especially in the colour of the mask.

I have sent these pictures before, but can`t find the string.

Here are what I think Like a Star @ heaven is the 16307 (left) and the 16307-1 (with "big tag"):
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Here are two versions og them:
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Old, older, oldest :
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

The same ones seen fron the top.

Like a Star @ heaven The question is when the "big tags" were put on.
The dogs have them from the mid 90s (f.inst poodles. 94-96) till 2001 or 2002 (for inst. long haired dachshound, ´01 and 02) and the Bernhards should have changed look in `96 study Suspect ´
So the "big tag" is no proof of which one is the oldest....

The rare one is in the middle with the wider head
But there is an easier way to see the different.
The rare one is Made in Germany, the other Made in China.

Sorry, Peter, but all of mine are made in Germany .
What a shame, it would have been so easy if that was the case Crying or Very sad

Are you sure?

Like the beagle 16332, the after-pressure was made in China.
I have seen only Made in China ones.

I WAS sure, but lloking very, very close, - yes, you are right !!!!!!!!!!!

The later one was indeed made in China Shocked

It says " 01 Schleich (S) GERMANY "

and then with very very little letters " Made in China"

SO, Peter, you have solved this very difficult problem,
- and as it often is with difficult problems, the solution is simple, if first you know sunny

Great, wonderful, thankyou, Peter cheers flower

I just remembered, - the old husky also has two molds, one made in Germany and one in China.

One has the tongue hanging out longer and the front legs more apart.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

I know I sent this picture before, sorry, but we have a lot of new members since then, and I kind of fits in here Wink

PS, when it somes to painting, there are numerous variants, of course.

I can't say anything on the St.Bernhards at the moment, i only have one version of the oldest from the farm series with the black nuzzle...
But in my Schleich collection before i had 3 from the farm-series, all different, and 2 of the newest, almost one coloured and one with a dark mask, and the white and beige more divided.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
These are my old husky's, the one at the left has its tongue more out...

But for that, i have two of the old husky to, both made in Germany, but different in painting, and the tongue is further out with one(i never noticed this before), and the legs are a little more spread indeed to. :)
Thanks for the tip, and i have to look for another black Labrador to... Rolling Eyes
