| Thanks a lot Widukind and lucky luke :) New batch was baked yesterday, all but one painted today. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]1. The vulturine guineafowl, Acryllium vulturinum. Usually I look at images in the internet for sculpt my figures more accurately, but this one was sculpted entirely by memory as I had the PC busy with other things, and hence the result may be not a star sculpt. This was the last I've painted, just a while ago I finished. It was a nightmare to paint. Each white dot on the feathers is made with the head of a needle (the same needle that I use for sculpt... how useful is it!) and the white paint dry on it after 4-5 dots, so painting the whole bird took a long while! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]African Savannah pals [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]2. The marbled polecat, Vormela peregusna. One of my favourite small carnivores. It was dpne almost from zero three or four times as two first were too big and third too wrongly shaped. After that I got a correct shape and size and hence I was able to start the details of sculpting such as fur, eyes, etc. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]With one of its main prey, the European hamster! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]And another European friend... [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]3. The white-necked rockfowl, Picathartes gymnocephalus. One of my favourite birds since ever! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]More and more from African rainforest :) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]4. The four-horned antelope ( Tetracerus quadricornis). One of the most interesting antelopes in the world! I just needed to have it in figure :) Honestly, this is not my best sculpt... but is enough for be displayed. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]More Indian pals :) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]5. And finally, this is the one that I like most! I'm really in love with my model of eyed torpedo ray ( Torpedo torpedo) :) I made it after knowing the existence of a Happy Kin torpedo ray, very well painted. But after seeing by other images that the figure have a very noticeable mold mark and also that is impossible to find for sale, I've decided to do my own :) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]And now to a dive in the Mediterranean sea :) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]_________________ My collection:- (Details):

| No doubts the torped is the star of this batch. Making from memory is really hard, I am surprised how many things you got correctly without any pictures as source. Guineafowls have relatively small heads and that's one point that is hard to get correctly without comparing with the real thing. Heads get often oversized when no source is used. Though, it ended very beautiful, mainly ecause of that intricating painting. I love also the marbled polecat. I used to put this animal in my wish listes for future releases. It is so beautiful and I only have the Play Visions version. |

| Yes Roger, that's the fail that I could have avoided looking at images: a too big head and thick neck! But it's enough for me. Better to have the marbled polecat from Play Visions than none! :) _________________ My collection:- (Details):

| Hello! After a week of pause, I charge again! This weekend I've been busy and I only did 5 models (the previous one I've did 10 models in 2 batches). I show you them in the same order that was painted :) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]1. First figure is done after reading the Blaine's sentence: "Weirdos? Aliens? Those are my peeps!" So I've decided to do the weirdest animal on my collection: the green spoon worm, Bonellia viridis. Those creatures have a 15 cm blob-shaped body, usually with a constriction in the middle, and a long extensible appendage that born from the body and end in a fishtail-shaped structure. The most famous fact of this animal is that the male, that is fusiform, very simple and dozens of times smaller than the female, lives inside the body of the female. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Usually, this is all that we can see on a dive. The body is generally hidden in a rocky refuge, and only the appendage is out. I wanted to show the beautiful undulated border of the model. The appendage itself is just a wire, for avoid breakages. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]More Mediterranean pals (well the horse mackerel is Japanese, but nearly identical to the Mediterranean one) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]2. The silky anteater, Cyclopes didactylus. One of those species that animal freaks (like me) likes more. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]With the giant armadillo these are all my xenarthrans for now. I would wish a good giant anteater for my collection, I think Papo one is the best. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Tough they could win the award to cutest animal in the world, they're not defenceless! When threatened by a predator, these slow animals unable to run away just present their formidable claws to the danger. They're sharp as razors and taking a silky anteater for meal is not an easy and harmless task! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]3. The baler volute, Melo melo. I wanted to have represented a more diverse arrangement of biodiversity on my strongly mammal-biased shelves, so I've decided to do a mollusk. But must be a big species with colorful and nice pattern and not too difficult to sculpt at decent scale. Few candidates for that, but the ideal species is this one! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]All my mollusks for now! The colossal squid is far fom "colossal", but it can be left as a juvenile [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Indopacific coral reef encounter! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]4. The pink-eared duck, Rhodonessa caryophyllacea :) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]These are all my ducks for now: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Unfortunately, the only natural habitat for this species now is... the natural history museum. Here with my other recently extinct species (I don't collect species extinct in prehistoric times, but I do with those exterminated by mankind) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]5. And finally, what is probably my most favourite snake of all times: the mandarin ratsnake, Elaphe mandarina. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]I've tried that the underside went accurately painted too. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]All my snakes for now (the other is a Fea's viper, also homemade) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]And what better companion for an animal called "mandarin" than this guy? | I enjoy you continue venturing in obscure places! Very beautiful and the silky anteater is really a species I am waiting for a long time to see in toy shape. Love the duck and all others, of course. By the way, my favorite giant anteater is the Safari figure but I won't recomend it to you because it has a baby attached. |

| Thanks everybody! Yes, the baby anteater in the back of its mother is the reason I've rejected the Safari one for my collection!
Blaine, maybe I can try to do again these three species for your collection, exchanging them by some of my "wished" figures? But take in account that they will not look identical as will be made from zero, and also that SuperSculpey is brittle and there is a risk of breakage during mailing... _________________ My collection:- (Details):

| Hey friends! Here I attack again after a long pause! This time I present you a very heterogeneous patch Here just out of the oven: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Plus, maybe do you remember certain model that due to calculating badly the size I've rejected to my collection and saved for sell it unpainted to a friend: - Pardofelis wrote:
- Hello!
This time I only present you the just baked models. This was a bit of disaster and I will not start painting for now. I wanted to do a giant ibis, that is one of my most favourite birds ever. Before detailing it, I made a photo together with the Takara Tomy japanese crested ibis and asked an animal expert if the size looks correct. He said that probably yes but also said that he never saw directly this species. Well, I've continued making it but I realized that is as big as my jabiru stork!!!!!! Too advanced to resize it I'm really really bad calculating sizes
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] 1. So now, I present you, begining from the first that was painted: the Indopacific blue starfish, Linckia laevigata. Extremely easy to paint as it's monochromatic, and it was done precisely because talking about making figures to a friend he argued than an echinoderms must be the easiest figures to do, which I disagreed. Well, some are easy to do, and maybe this one is the easiest. But for species with spines such as urchins, ramifications like in sea cucumbers, feathers as in crinoids or geometric patterns of tubercles with certain volume (think in Oreaster for example), they must be some of the most difficult to sculpt accurately! Anyway this caught my attention because I didn't had any echinoderm in my collection so I dediced to do an easy and colorful one. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Here a Indopacific tropical reef scene, tough without the reef [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]And here you can calculate easily the scale with a real specimen of this species (with colours very faded due to preservation, but when alive they're cobalt blue) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]2. Followed by one of the mightiest and most magnific birds of my country: the great bustard ( Otis tarda). Well, they're big birds, overall the males, more or less like a big domestic turkey. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]But yes, I did again what I do always: make them slightly bigger than I should! Or at least this is what thinks the Papo Iberian lynx. Well, more meat for him, hehe (tough an encounter between these two is unlikely, as bustards are almost restricted to open spaces where they can see the horizon, while lynxes prefair dense scrub for hide and hunt being unseen by the prey). [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]However, it fits very well with the Nayab genet, another nice animal found in my mediterranean land :) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]3. This one I did as a gift for a friend. That friend is an entomologist specialized in true bugs (Prosorrhyncha) and I've offered to made a model for him, he asked a Notonecta. Well, I must confess that insects are even more difficult to sculpt accurately than tetrapods but I've tried my best. He finally decided for the attractive species N. meridionalis :) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Of course, this one can't be made in the same scale range than the figures for my collection In fact it's about 2:1 scale! Here with my other homemade insects: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]4. And now, I dediced that sell the raw model of giant ibis to this other friend is not a very professional thing. So I've painted it and now it looks much better. Here the giant ibis ( Thaumatibis gigantea), one of my mythical dreamed species, in the same edge of exctinction and sadly neglected by all zoos, that could save it. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Compared with my other ibis, the Takara Tomy Japanese crested ibis, that is also endangered tough not as much as the giant ibis. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]And now with some other pals that inhabits more or less the same region (the peninsula formed by Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam and Thailand.. not sure if there is a name for the whole peninsula?) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]5. And finally, this piece represented a challenge for me, but after reshaping various times I've got a fairly decent result :) The suuuuperbeautiful Red-shanked Douc Langur ( Pygathrix nemaeus), probably the monkey with most colorful coat in the world [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]here my whole monkey troop! | Ohhhpssss, sorry, yes, Mojo, not Papo! I often tend to confuse these two brands yes, the pose of the langur is tricky too! Because these are always in a branch with the tail hanging straight. But in this pose I cannot put it in a flat surface. I could have done walking, like the CollectA diana monkey. But then the beautiful colours of the intimate parts would have been hidden. So I've decided to do it sitting :) Thanks Roger and Lucky luke for your kind words :) _________________ My collection:- (Details):

| Hey fellows! Another 5 more models for entertain your eyes :) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]I've painted in order of size from smaller to bigger, what usually also means from easiest to hardest. And in this order I present you: 1. The mosaic starfish, Plectaster decanus, or at least it's what it's intended to be. Yes, I know. Arms are too wide and flat, and the red patches are too deep. But it's really hard to do this accurately in a figure of 14 to 16 millimeters across (depending of which arms do you choose) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Here with my other starfish, the Pacific Blue: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]2. Without leaving the warm shallow seas, do you all know my passion for butterflyfishes, but this time I decided to do a different genus. The pyramid butterflyfish, Hemitaurichthys polylepis. This genus have dorsal and anal fins shorter than in Chaetodon (not enclosing the caudal fin) so I've tried to reflect that in my figure. I also did the indentation corresponding to hard rays of dorsal fin, that in this species is much more noticeable than in Chaetodon. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]All my butterflyfishes for now... and they may be even more in the future [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]For size comparison see CollectA zebra shark :) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]3. The Australian avocet, Recurvirostra novaehollandiae. From the 4 avocet species this is the more attractive for me so it's what I chosen for made Of course, legs are wires, tough bill is made from paste and I fear for a future breakage This model was a bit of disaster because it don't stand. I had to add crude modelling paste under the feet for make them flatter and paint over crude paste! I hope this don't will have bad consequences for the figure in the future... [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Until now all my Australian fauna consisted on mammals, so it's nice to start to disversify my Aussie range :) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]4. The zebra duiker, Cephalophus zebra. An animal that I already tried to do (but after turned into a Jentink's duiker). One of the most beautiful antelopes in the world, but neglected by many because it's small so it don't appear in zoos or in figurine world! This one don't have skeleton but as legs are thin they have wire inside them for avoid breakage and for better standing on four legs during baking :) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Yes it should be a bit more small compared with Jentink's duiker.. its only very slightly smaller. But it works fine [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Now talk about stripes in the African jungle! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]5. And finally, myyyyy preciousss! Chinese paddlefish, Psephurus gladius. I wanted to do (or to have) a model of this species since ages, much before buying the materials for make models. But once I started modelling I always feared this species. It must be with a precission that I don't have for avoid assymetries in the cephalic armour and bumps and marks in the body. However, while not perfect as it would be if made by Kitan Club, it's enough fine as for be proud, or at least I am! The figure have a tinfoil skeleton inside for don't waste too much paste, and also a wire in the bill. Sculpting the bill around the wire was really difficult. The tip of the wire was always deforming or pulling out of the bill, but I managed to model it decently, tough it should be more smoothly shaped. Sadly, this giant and extremely unique fish, the only one of its genus and one of the only two members of its very distinctive and unique primitive family, it's now gone forever. IUCN still don't recognize it as extinct, because lack of data and studies, but it inhabited the Yangtze river and it suffered the same threats than the much more doccumented Baiji dolphin, and disappeared at the same time than the cetacean, so, very few years ago. There are colour photographs of the species, so it's one of these species that went extinct during our lifetime and this is even more sad than species extinct before we born... [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]And this photo for @sbell hehe.
