| The last of the animal figures from the two Walmart exclusive Jumanji sets that I bought. These are two more beautifully detailed figures, with the only real downside being that they don't stand up well on their own. The wings don't move at all, but the head and legs can be moved up and down. DimensionsEagle: About 8 1/4 inches wide (wingtip to wingtip), 3/4 of an inch wide (at body), 3 inches tall (head to tail tip), and 3/4 of an inch deep (raised talons to back). Vulture: About 8 1/4 inches wide (wingtip to wingtip), 3/4 of an inch wide (at body), 2 1/2 inches tall (head to tail tip), and 3/4 of an inch deep (raised talons to back). WeightEagle: 1.3 ounces Vulture: 1.3 ounces [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

| Great pics again I must say those models are not my favorite of the line. The details are fine, especially on the wings but the Bald eagle legs missed some feathers for me and teh head of the condor looks like a vulture head, it isn't a californian or an Andean condor head. Too ad beacause this series catches my eyes. |

Too ad beacause this series catches my eyes. The condor thing is actually my bad. In my rush to get these posted I think I misidentified the figure. None of the species names were listed on the box, so I had to guess. I think I had the ruff of an Andean condor in my head, so that's why that came to mind. What I actually think this is, is some species of Old World vulture, though heaven help me if I can tell you which one. My guess would be a white-rumped vulture, though the markings don't match up. |

| New World vultures are condors and vice versa. So intermixing these names is fine, if you are implying this is a New World vulture :-)
[truth is, this figure looks like it has characteristics of both Old World and New World vultures...] |

Oh, I actually didn't know that. That's really interesting, thanks! You can tell I'm more into other kinds of raptors, like hawks and the like. Though I still love vultures, I haven't done any extensive studying of them. |

[truth is, this figure looks like it has characteristics of both Old World and New World vultures...] And yes, this does seem to be some strange hybrid vulture, which I guess makes as much sense as why a bald eagle would be included in a jungle playset. |

Though I still love vultures, I haven't done any extensive studying of them. Condor and New World Vulture are just two common names for any member of the Cathartidae. However, this family is not a sister group to the Old World Vultures (Accipitridae, which also includes most eagles, hawks, kites). The similarities to Old and New World vultures represent convergent evolution of their necrophagous habits. |

Convergent evolution always fascinates me, so anytime you have two nonrelated (or at least not closely related) animals that look alike I'm like "Yes, please!" |

| If we had to choose a species for this hybrid model, it couldn't be a red-headed vulture but why not a white-rumped vulture ? |

I thought white-rumped vulture as well. The markings don't match 100%, but it's pretty close. |
