| Wave goodbye to:
Wild Life Sloth Bear 14779 American Bison 14714 Rattlesnake 14740 Tiger Shark 14765 Octopus 14768 Giant Tortoise 14601 Snowy Owl 14671
Horse Club Frisian Stallion 13792 Frisian Mare 13749 Arabian Mare 13761 Arabian Mare with blanket 41447 Arab Stallion 13811 Trakehner Stallion 13756 Knabstrupper Mare 13769
Bayala Denaja 70540 Surah's Feathered Foal Femaja's butterfly foal 70549 Venuja's pearl foal 70550
Dinosaurs Kentrosaurus 14583 Psittacosaurus 15004 Tawa 15005 Spinosaurus and T-rex, small 41455 T-Rex and Velociraptor, small 42216
NOTE: I didn't add to the list items that retired mid-2019 like the Forest Dwellers, Mountain Animals etc... I used info from Animal Kingdoms NZ so I'm not 100% sure that this is a complete and accurate list. I have to say though that is rather weird to see that there are no Farm World items retiring and that the previous Giant Tortoise is not on the list.. ..well, until the official Schleich Collectors Catalogue will be online.

| Thanks, it already gives a good overview of what is being discontinued. I am glad I have the sloth bear already. Quite surprising to see the tawa and psittacosaurus being retired, these are quite recent and decent. I wasn't even able of seeing the psittacosaurus in a local shop. |

| I'm glad I bought finally the sloth bear not so long ago, after years of doubting! Next year it will become impossible to find in local shops :) _________________ My collection:- (Details):

| The sloth bear lasted only 3 years in Schleich's line-up. An excellent but obscure figure, that is more appealing to collectors than kids. It's one of the few animal figures that were always in stock at the big toy-stores here in Athens. I guess it didn't sell well and it might very possibly be on Schleich's sale list next year, this is what happened with the Giant Pangolin (selling now for 2.99 Euro).
I'm quite unhappy that the European Forest set was retired earlier this year and I missed the Red Deer, that is for me the best deer figure Schleich has made the last decade. It should be out on its own. Anyway.. |

| Hi everyone, Sue here from Animal Kingdoms. I just wanted to confirm that the list on [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]which spacelab has used, was given to me through official channels and should be accurate. It is possible more are going to be retired, but so far this is the official list. Regarding the Giant Tortoise, he is only the 2019 list for Schleich being retired. (A previous blog of ours). Which is why he is not on the 2020 list. Any questions please don't hesitate to ask, I spend a lot of time building these blogs and really appreciate that everyone enjoys them |

Yeah, I've seen that, but it proved that the previous Tortoise did not retire in 2019. Just like the Moose, Red & Arctic Foxes, Snowy owl and Wild Boar. All of these are on the 2019 retire list but it turned out that they stay on production with Schleich all through the year (they were still on the second 2019 brand catalog). That's why I'm skeptic with the first lists companies send. Keep up with the great work you're doing! |

Yeah, I also saw that. I edited the first post adding those two. They both need to be corrected on TAW, as discontinued date there states 2018 (giant turtle) and 2019 (snowy owl). If Roger or another editor reads.. So, the Giant Turtle stayed on production for eleven years, a small record for the current wild life range, but way far behind the 1996 male Hippo that still holds the record for most years on production. 17 years that is! Also, since the turtle and the owl are gone in 2020, the oldest figure on the current wild life range is the male Grizzly Bear, 8 years and counting. For statistic freaks.. |

I updated the wiki with all the retirements in this post. However, there was the snowy owl as retired in 2019 and the turtle in 2018. I don't have catalogues to check. Are you sure they are only being retired in 2020? |

| About the sets now, 41456 North American forest dwellers 41457 Forest animal babies 41458 European forest dwellers 41459 Mountain animals 42428 Indian Rhinoceros baby
All these are gone from July 2019, meaning they are present on the first 2019 catalogue. I don't know what year you choose for their retirement in this case. 2019 or 2020? |

Thanks for the information about the owl and turtle. The retirement year was always corresponding to the first catalogue the figure couldn't be found. As Schleich now works with six monthly catalogues. The retirement year in this case is mid 2019, or July 2019, never 2020 in my opinion. |

| Glad I have the trakhener stallion and the knappstrupper mare. The 2019 retires were really sad because they retired the 13800,13796,16835,13823. They are my favourite figurines and i don't know why they retired them. The 13823 was only made for 2 years while the longest produced schleich figurine, the donkey was made for 21 years. |

Welcome on forum! Some Schleich figures have really a short life and it is good to get them if we like before they get retired and hard to pay. I think I never noticed that duck, it is a different duck from what we are used. Is there any special reason why it is your favourite? |

| [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] the duck is one of my favourites because it is a swimming duck and it is the only one like that.(I know the 2013 drake is also swimming but it is a duck.)It is also starting to be rare and obsolete. |

I agree and it is wonderful when the females of certain species, are released even if their corresponding males are more attractive to the gneral public. |
