The legs of the older horses don't really bend at all, unless you put extreme pressure on them, but these new ones are easily bent just by lightly touching them.
That doesn't sound good. Thanks for the answer anyway. _________________ ~Magda (formerly Mangalarga) Blog | Facebook |

That doesn't sound good. Thanks for the answer anyway. No, it's not what you'd ideally want, but it's not really a problem as long as you don't handle them too roughly :) |

| Well, I wanted to repaint them (paintjob is a weak point of Collecta models), but I'm not sure whether the paint won't crach on those bendable legs. I guess I'll have to wait for opinion of experienced "repainters" before I'll repaint some of 2011 Collecta, but I'm going to buy them anyway, they are great _________________ ~Magda (formerly Mangalarga) Blog | Facebook

Could you tell me if there is a big difference between the "bendability" (what a word but I don't know any better one) of the legs of the 2011 horses and the earlier ones? I'd be very grateful :) I'm afraid the legs of the new horses DO bend much easier than the ones of the older models. CollectA seem to have changed material because the new horses feel much softer and more rubbery. The legs of the older horses don't really bend at all, unless you put extreme pressure on them, but these new ones are easily bent just by lightly touching them. Just to clarify: When you say the legs of the older ones don't bend at all compared to the new ones, are you referring to ones like the old thoroughbred mare? Having tried to customize one, I've found those old ones are rock hard and impossible to sand, heat, or cut. My Friesian, Appy, and WB are more Schleich/Safarilike, plasticwise. Are the new ones even softer, like Bullylands? |

You can paint them, but be careful not to bend them after painting them because the paint could get damaged. I think you could use acrilys, but dilute them a bit on water before painting if you want to avoid cratches :) _________________ Visit my collection gallery at http://sylobe.deviantart.com/gallery/26714361

Are the new ones even softer, like Bullylands? That's exactly who I was thinking of. The new ones are definitely softer than the schleichs. I don't own many bullylands, but from what I remember of the ones I have seen the new collectas are very similar. |
