| I have discovered some days ago the entire collection of books by del prado that are published in 2002 and are sold in newsstands in italy, spain, united states and france. the entire work is called" el arca de los animales" and includes 73 weekly releases which include 72 animal figures, 50 monographic books, various games, etc etc ... According with del prado the nayab jackal is really a wolf |

| Interesting and the number 72 is exactly the same we are listing at the Toy Animal Wiki. I believe they are all the same. The wiki page has 73 figures actually but one is a white variation of the tiger, probably from a Happy Kin Toys set as it is my white fox that is not listed there. If these are the exact same and the jackal is listed as a wolf, could you please tell us how is the wolf listed? |

| the 72 animal figurines from Del Prado collection were created exclusively for Del Prado editions by a company called Toyway uk, based in Letchworth, England. These figures were produced by Timpo probably in the 60-70s. Animals of this serie were all labelled Timpo. In 2009 Toyway company went bankruptcy. Del Prado released them in 2002 and retired in 2005, subsequently Nayab and other Chinese companies, , in all likelihood, copied the entire series. |

That makes all sense to me. Good job Lucio! I believe none of the Nayab listed is a Del Prado original figure and it won't be easy to distinguish a genuine figure from a Nayab. I am seeing a crocodile with Del Prado tag for an affordable price for sale, I think I will go for it to see if there is anything to check for. Besides of it, it is displayed at the wiki as a slender-snouted crocodile what is something that attracts me. |

| on the nayab models of toy animal wiki there are some errors, for example the boar is actually a giant forest hog, the capercaillie is a black grouse, , the jackal is a wolf. I found this information in mammal book of DK publisher

I found this information in mammal book of DK publisher I agree with your species determination. TAI used original numbering from Nayab webpages and probably the names too - then were some names corrected (some species were wrong named by Nayab, e.g. bison, cheetah, stork,...). |

Yes, the cheetah was labeled as leopard, the stork as Siberian crane and the bison I don't have any info. The grouse I already fixed once it was my personal mistake. I haven't edited the boar page but I remember many people telling it looked like a giant forest hog and considering that Nayab labeled it just as boar, it won't be also a problem to fix it. The Jackal and the wolf are introduced exactly as they were found in Nayab official info, though, assuming it is wrong what likely is, what is the identification of this strage wolf? Also Lucio, do you confirm the identification of the crocodile as slender-snouted crocodile? |

| The nayab crocodile is a freshwater crocodile, although Timpo was labelled it Mississippi alligator. Probably the nayab wolf is a coyote. The same model sold by happy kin is an ethiopian wolf, for his red-fulvous color |

| The crocodile identification sounds plausible to me, a freshwater crocodile also bears a narrow snout. Though, as the identification on TAW is not mine I will probably not change it now. I don't remember what I did to my Nayab boar, but it seems I should keep it in my collection. |
