| [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]As Nayab can be so vague about its models I am assuming this a Red Deer but to me its a bit too stocky and the the face markings are odd.I thought it may have been a Sambar but the antlers are wrong.Anyone like to guess? |

| Interesting ! I had to google Sambar deer, and fund so many beautyful deer from the East Could be great to see some models of those . CollectA made de wonderful Père David's deer, and I suppose that is about it ? Would Nayab ( or what they are called ) make a Sambar ? Well, these models are made in China, so this nice fellow could be one of the Sambar species |

| I would identify it as a sika deer, but that's just what I think _________________ [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] ADAM [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] "Our planet is in crisis. | Could it also be a Barasingha, they seem also to look like this figure. _________________ [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] ADAM [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] "Our planet is in crisis. | I did think of a Sika but it doesn't have the white rump patch of this deer and the models rump is more like a Red deer. Barasingha have different antlers. I agree with Susanne it that its a deer but not Roe,Reindeer,White tailed or Moose!

So we are beginning to narrow the species down. |

| That's a good guess Andreas, I would say that's the best guess yet, with Susanne's sambar assumption. _________________ [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] ADAM [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] "Our planet is in crisis. | A Thorold's Deer would be fantastic but I think if this is may be only by default as their wild boar looks like a Giant forest hog and they still called it a wild boar! |

Certainly, with the painting this could be a Thorold's or White-lipped deer. Nice one Andreas. |
