Edinburgh Zoo

In September 2018 I visited Edinburgh and also went to the zoo. Here are some photos:

I am also a fan of zoos

Cassowaries are very rare in French zoos, I have only seen it at the "Ménagerie du Jardin des Plantes" in Paris, the second oldest zoo in Europe.

Red river hogs are also quite scarce. The only one I have seen was in a small British zoo named "Beale Park", close to Reading, in Berkshire.

You inspired me with all your topics. I am going to share my zoo, wildlife and collection pics with the forum like you are, so that our friends can get a little distraction in those confinement times.

The Beale park place that you mention was my inspiration of my fantasy zoo where all my figures used to reside until they went on this relocation to Kolmarden Zoo in Sweden. Beale park was named Berkshire Wildlife Park and Kolmarden Zoo was named Helscung Wildlife Park

I had quite a lot of photos from there but they are on my other laptop which is not with me at the moment.

RtasVaDumee-its strange you say that Red River Hos are rare in France.I have been to a number of the Uk and they all had Red River hogs.I have also been to a number of zoos in Spain and Germany and they also had Red River hogs.Wonder why France they are so scare in France?

Yeah, that is what I thought Taylor. Red river hogs are very common and are found in every zoo and safari park I have been to.

I don't remember a red river hog in Attica park in Athens either, but there are Cassowaries. Here's pics I took some years ago

Very nice cassowary Spacelab, it seems that you are very close to this dangerous bird

I was not that close, but my wife that knows nothing about animals and thought that this was such a cute bird was bitten! Then the bird was going up and down parallel to her, following her steps.. That was a funny moment actually.

I only know two French zoos that have red river hogs and I have visited every zoo in western France.

Wow ok that is rather surprising, that Western French zoos rarely have red river hogs.

There are red river hogs at 11 French zoos and cassowaries at 10 French zoos.
