| -I don't have none of these species in my collection. -I would not mind to have a dodo, but probably I prefair Noah's Pals. -I love ravens, they're so magnific and noble creatures. -I'm extremely surprised that Adam have a stuffed specimen of a kingfisher. And you said another species? Which one? -Depending of what you call "malnourished"... I've seen a real dodo skeleton tough is composed by bones of several individuals joined together. As probably all of you know, there is no taxidermy specimen dodo in the whole world - the only non-skeletical remains are a mummified featherless head, and one leg. -The fact Adam have a feather collection surprised me even more than the taxidermy kinfisher. When I was younger I had a passion for collecting feathers, much stronger than now for collecting figurines, in fact it has been the strongest passion of my whole life. I keep the collection, that is pretty good, but almost suddenly my interest for increasing it stopped. I reached about 1200 species. I would love to have Adam looking at my feather albums and enjoying them -I had a stuffed puffin but he started to go "rotten" (moth-eaten) with "small worms" (carpet beetle larvae actually) and before it turned to a bad mesh I had to give it to a friend that can preserve it better than me. -I find disgusting that somebody find disgusting the adorable silverfishes. As house pests, they may and maybe even must be managed and stopped to not damage, but this is no reason for find them "disgusting". Foxes also do damage in poultry, but you don't find them disgusting and they don't make your skin crawl. This is totally unfair. _________________ My collection:- (Details):

| I have these 3 fellows and in my chilhood, I found a silk kingfisher on a bridge that I brouht back to my home, nursed and released 2 days after when able to fly. During summer, from time to time, I have the pleasure to see one of these blue little flames skiming over Dourbie river!..

Some fears are irrational and cannot be controlled, that's what we call "phobias", so telling us that is useless Pardo, it won't change what Adam and I think about silverfishes, that's a visceral disgust. _________________ Schleich 370 CollectA 76 Papo 61 Safari 24 Yujin 15 Southlands 12 Mojo 14 Maia&Borges 5 Bullyland 1 Recur 1 Homemade 3 Bootleg 1 Total 582

| I have a black-capped kingfisher as a taxidermy model. In my 'small' feather collection (no where near as big as Isidro's) I have 56 herring gull feathers, 1 Chilean flamingo feather, 18 woodpigeon feathers, 2 Orinoco geese feathers and 100+ dunnock feathers.
Indeed I would love to see your feather albums, as I would probably look at them for whole afternoons. _________________ [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] ADAM [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] "Our planet is in crisis. | V MammalsA) MonotremesSpecies : Platypus [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Figure on this picture : Papo 56011 Platypus (2011-2019) Fun facts : - I love it, even though it is too big. I don't know if I will ever replace it by Southland's model which is better proportionate but not as nicely detailed in my opinion. - The echidna from Southland Replicas will be definitely one of my next purchases. - Despite his name, I have always been convinced that the pokemon Psyduck was a platypus and not a duck. He was one of my favourite pokemon because of that. - Although it was not retired yet when I bought it, it was already quite difficult to find and I had to travel quite far from home to get it. - I have never seen a platypus and I don't think there are any of them outside of Australia. The platypus is definitely the Holy Grail for zoos. Update : Were added to the collection - Southlands Replicas 00009 Platypus (2017-still in production) - Schleich 14840 Platypus (2021-still in production) - Southlands Replicas 00010 Echidna (2017-still in production) For further information, please check the addition topics. | This was my first and only platypus for a very long time. I enjoyed playing with her in puddles where I pretended she was looking for worms. Her husband is currently the CollectA figure and I may get the Southlands for their baby. I may even get the Mojo figure as she is very appealing and rather adorable. I got the Southlands echidna at 2018 Xmas, then on my birthday 2019 I got her husband: Science & Nature figure. The funniest echidna figure would go to the UK Yowies one, it looks like a ferrero rocher! _________________ [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] ADAM [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] "Our planet is in crisis. | Papo platypus is also my favorite, that's a perfect figure! I also have the Southlands, very detailed but so small that it can't be as nicely detailed as the Papo figure. Mojö Fun platypus is very appealing, maybe the closest to what we could expect from Schleich, both in sculpt and size. Strangely, the German brand never released one, maybe next year they introduce it in these small wildlife sets. I even own the large McDonald's platypus. Did you know Britains released a figure of a platypus that is 0,8 cm long? Yes, almost as hard to find as a real platypus outside Australia. Yes, the Southlands echidna is unmissable, I have it and also the funny Science and Nature friend. About the great auks, surely none of these on TAW could satisfy you. |

I had to convince the cashier to let me come in. - I have the 14174 from my childhood, bought the 14756 in my Schleich favourite shop, found the 14603 and the joey during my figure hunts, ordered the male from Gascher's and bought the Papo in my usual Papo shop, close to my job. - I have seen red kangaroos in zoos. Update : Were added to the collection - Southlands Replicas 00008 Eastern Grey Kangaroo Hopping Female (2017-still in production) - Safari 224929 Wallaby (2016-still in production) For further information, please check the addition topics. I think that, generally speaking, Mojo fun is the closest main brand to Schleich as far as figures design is concerned. - Roger wrote:

Which small wildlife sets are you talking about ? I did not know for Britains' platypus. Obviously, it was not among my uncle's toys like the pangolin I showed you (which is probably from Britains). |

| 1. Mojö Fun is the closest to Schleich, to Papo and to CollectA Not that the brand copies as some people suggested. The manager is a former CollectA worker and it is natural that some designs look similar. The inspiration in Schleich is also evident in some early figures, namely the squirrels or in Papo with their tigers. It explains why I loved so much their hyena and lion, they were not inspired in anything known and I love that brands work their own identity. fortunately, Mojö newer releases have their own identity and the platypus is just my personal supposition once it couldn't be inspired in Schleich as you surely understand, just close to what we could expect once it is lovely and moderately sized.[/quote]
2. I mean these Schleich small sets that you have... snake nest, frogs, ostrich nest... but again a supposition.
3. Singapore/Hong Kong companies really copied several Britains figures but the platypus was never of their interest, thus never copied. The pangolin was one of the interesting excelptions, once Britains never made a pangolin. |

| When I took a look at your first post on what figures you were going to show us and what order you were doing them. I realised how many more figures your going to be sharing with us, and I'm ever so excited. _________________ [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] ADAM [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] "Our planet is in crisis. Great picture Adam, it seems you have a place with a very good light that you can use for your future pictures. These two work so nicely together and the CollectA platypus seems to be also a gen. |

| To be honest that photo was taken on my bedroom windowsill, I couldn't use my desk (a place where all my photos are taken) due to my spring cleaning and all my leaves and microscope slides were on it. _________________ [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] ADAM [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] "Our planet is in crisis. | V MammalsB) Marsupials2) Carnivorous marsupialsSpecies : Tasmanian devil, thylacine [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Figures on this picture (from left to right) : - CollectA 88656 Tasmanian Devil (2014-still in production) - CollectA 88767 Thylacine Female (2016-still in production) Fun facts : - The Tasmanian devil was the very first CollectA figure I ordered, along with the female wombat. I found that Schlech was very poor as far as Australian and South American animals were concerned (my next purchases were the maned wolf, the capybara and the Baird's tapir) and wanted to expand my species diversity in those geographic areas. I was so amazed by the quality of this devil that I decided to buy every single species I had not yet from CollectA. This brand convinced me with only one figure. - The last thylacine was named Benjamin, like me. - The tiger quoll from Southlands Replicas will soon complete that family. - I ordered both of them from my favourite Ebay seller. - I have never seen a Tasmanian devil. I still have to go back to Beauval's zoo, the largest zoo in France, to see the only ones in my country (they arrived in 2019). By the way, I am curious, have you ever visited Beauval Pardo ? I do have seen stuffed thylacines in museums though. Update : Were added to the collection - Southlands Replicas 00006 Tasmanian Devil Male (2017-still in production) - Southlands Replicas 00002 Spotted-tailed Quoll (2017-still in production) For further information, please check the addition topics. I discovered quokkas reading his book. - I bought the male koala and male wombat in local shops, I bought the quokka in my favourite Schleich shop, found the koala female during one of my figure hunts and ordered the wombat female from my favourite Ebay seller. - I have seen koalas in Beauval's zoo but I have never seen quokkas nor wombats.
