| V MammalsM) Even-toed ungulates2) Camelidsa) Old world camelids Species : Dromedary, Bactrian camel [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Figures on this picture (from left to right) : - Schleich 14832 Dromedary (2020-still in production) - Papo 50151 Dromedary (2013-still in production) - Papo 50129 Bactrian Camel (2011-still in production) - Schleich 14602 Bactrian Camel Foal (2009-2012) Fun facts : - I found the dromedary mare from 2020 while I was in a pretty desperate mood and it brought me quite a lot of hope. The story is available here : [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]- It is my favourite figure from 2020 and one of Schleich's recent masterpieces. - The Bactrian camel is another species for which I prefer the Papo model. Actually, my favourite is CollectA's but the Papo figure was more easily available to me. I don't know if I will ever get the CollectA. If anyone has both camels from Papo and CollectA, I would really enjoy to see them together. - I found the Schleich dromedary in a garden centre (see my other topic), bought the Papo one and the Bactrian camel in that shop close to my job and bought the camel foal to another collector from my region I met on a French second hand website. - I have seen dromedaries and Bactrian camels in zoos. |

| I have 5 Bactrian, and 4 (5 in a few days) Dromedary. Before seeing the 2020 Dromedary I knew I would pick it for my final one of the family. If it turned out terrible (which it isn't) I would've bought the Mojo figure. It is intersting that Papo and Schleich both released crias that were cream, but no cream adults were made. _________________ [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] ADAM [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] "Our planet is in crisis. | Well, those could by my choices, I have both Papo and I already mentioned the Schleich is their most decent camel. I think I prefer Papo's bactrian over the CollectA's nice rendition but maybe a topic confrontation could be interesting. Susanne has both but it is not fair to punish always the same person to take pictures. Let me just recommend these two great topics by [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]: - [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]- [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] |

| Thank you so much Kosta !
Roger is right, the Papo is actually better.
Anyway, they fit absolutely well together, I will probably get the CollectA too (unfortunately that's a male too). _________________ Schleich 370 CollectA 76 Papo 61 Safari 24 Yujin 15 Southlands 12 Mojo 14 Maia&Borges 5 Bullyland 1 Recur 1 Homemade 3 Bootleg 1 Total 582

| Yes, I also like more the Papo one. But the Collecta is also nice...with different hairstyle :) And it has an interesting, nice pose ...which can be seen on last photo. Maybe you can use the Collecta one as a wild Bactrian camel and the Papo , as a domestic ? By the way, I made the comperation photos for the Okapis you wanted to see . I know Adam took this job, but if he doesn`t mind , I can show mine :) Do you want them here ?

| I have the Collecta and like it better. Both figures are very good, it's just that Collecta chose a more handsome individual while Papo chose one with attitude. It's a matter of taste. The bactrian camels I've seen in zoos look closer to the collecta one actually. |

| Show them as you wish Kosta, I'm very busy, but I'll try and get the Asian elephants and giraffes up as soon as I can. _________________ [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] ADAM [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] "Our planet is in crisis. | Yes Kosta, you can post the okapis, that's very kind of you !
Fortunately, I don't have to choose between the camels, I can have both. Indeed, I could pretend that one is a domestic camel while the other is a wild one, but they fit so well together that I can also decide they are two males from the same wild group/domestic caravan. |

| Wow, I did not realise the CollectA okapi looked so nice...
Now, I have to decide if I start collecting okapis in every brands or not, because I already have too many of them if I don't (it's a solitary species).
In any case, I will surely get the baby as a child for my Schleich pair. Thank you for those very useful pics. |

| You are welcome. You know ... ? ... I think like this : There is time for everything. If you are not sure, you want more Okapis, this means , you are not ready for that. When the time for this come, you will just feel , that you need more. It is for every model. For a long time I had only the Collecta mom and baby in my collection, and these two models were just enough for me. And then, the Okapi fever came to me one day.. and soon after, look what`s happened with my collection .. And I also have a fiew more Okapi models , which are not in the photos. :) With the time, our taste is changing .. ''growing'' ... If one day we don`t like something, or we think , we don`t need it ... after time, this can change... even if before we were so shure about our choise. This is happening with my collecting taste during these years ... and I am sure it is the same for many collectors. To share my opinion of the Collecta adult Okapi , I am just not a fan of the texture of the model..and maybe it is hard to see this very clear on my poor photos.. But other than that, I thik it is a nice model. The baby, I just love :) |

| Anyway Kosta, I have plenty of more interesting figures to buy before getting new okapis.
However, I may order the baby very soon. _________________ Schleich 370 CollectA 76 Papo 61 Safari 24 Yujin 15 Southlands 12 Mojo 14 Maia&Borges 5 Bullyland 1 Recur 1 Homemade 3 Bootleg 1 Total 582

| V MammalsM) Even-toed ungulates2) Camelidsb) New world camelids Species : Llama, guanaco, alpaca [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Figures on this picture (from left to right) : - Schleich 14301 Llama (2002-2009) - Papo 50130 Llama (2011-2016) - Schleich 13705 Alpaca Foal (2012-2015) - Schleich 13703 Alpaca Stallion (2012-2015) - Schleich 13704 Alpaca Mare (2012-2015) Fun facts : - I would like to replace my old Schleich llama by a larger one and I have been considering Mojo's model and its faol. However, it is very big and I am not sure it will fit with my larger camelids such as the Bactrian camel. I asked Paige a comparison pic and I think the size difference may be acceptable but I am still not sure about that. It would be nice if some of you could advise me (I can post Paige's picture here if you want). - I use Papo's llama as a wild guanaco since it is identified as such on TAI. The Mojo llama would work nicely with it since domestic llamas are supposed to be slightly bigger than wild guanacos. - The alpaca foal is probably my parents' most hated animal figure : they both think it is ridiculous. As for me, I don't think it is that bad. - I have the Schleich llama from my childhood, bought the male alpaca in a local toy shop, and found the alpaca female, foal and the Papo guanaco during my figure hunts. - I have seen llamas, guanacos, alpacas in zoos (as well as vicuñas)

| The Mojo cria will work well as an adult llama and the CollectA isa bit bigger than the Schleich but fits well _________________ [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] ADAM [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] "Our planet is in crisis. | Is your Mojo Asian elephant also shiny, Adam? I like it a lot, but I wish they had given mine a more matte finish. It's kind of odd, because their African elephant isn't so shiny. |

| Your elephant doesn't look quite as shiny as mine, but difficult to tell from a photo. Is yours from soft rubber, much more flexible than the Schleich plastic? |
