Thankyou, Chris !!
It is fun how some models end in a country where nobody knows what they are Shocked

In Denmark most people know Schleich.
Many know Reisler and Britains
Very few know Papo
and that is about it Laughing Laughing

Barrett Donkeys and Taylor Squirel Tree by Chris Sweetman, on Flickr
In the 1960's in England the best known and available everywhere were Britains. I even saw them for sale at a camping shop and an opticians! Other makes were harder to find and surprisingly sold at newsagents!

I have posted another image with those wonderful mum and baby donkeys or we could be say Jenny and foal.

Anyway I have included a close up of the Squirrel tree to compare with your model. As you can see the squirrel looks like the red variety so may originally date from a time these were more widespread than they are today.

I am sure the opticians were selling the Britains platypus. We surely need glasses to find it. Laughing

You are welcome Susanne and nice to see sunshine in Denmark. We had have had sunshine too over the Easter Bank Holiday Weekend in England.

Yes, that squirrel you have is a F.G. Taylor version. BTW did you know it was originally made in lead and first issued in the 1930's!

The donkeys also were originally lead castings and were first released in 1930.

Hope you had a Happy Easter.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Cherilea or Hilco Dromedary camel by Chris Sweetman, on Flickr

Cherilea or Hilco - plastic zoo range 1:32nd scale model Dromedary camel.
This is moulded in light buff plastic with light brown spray painted body.
The open mouth and eyes are both painted in red! Not marked but believed to be by Cherilea or Hilco.
There is some paint loss most noticeable on the right, not shown side, but a very hard to find model.

They are both lovely models Very Happy

Especially I love the face of the last one.
Is that a decorative thing hanging on the halter, which we can see on the other side ?

I admire you very much for being able to find such charming rarities , which may look like chinanimals at a first glance Applause Applause Applause

It is great that you give your voice to these very old British models. I particularly have a special pleasure reading about them. Camels are used across several series in these vintage companiesbut the static pose of the second model may mean it belongs to an animal themed collection. farao
