| I have been looking and looking for this little piece of plastic for a looong time. Torben had him for sale, but I had promised one of my friends not to bid against him, - imagine my excietment when shortly after one more was on Ebay The Classics terrier 360 Here together with the poodle 359 : [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]The terrier is called a foxterrier, but I think it is a Bedlington Being from the 60`s, they are rather hard to find. Perhaps there are many out there, but not included in Gascher`s book the happy owners may not know what they are. They have not mark, so they can`t be identifyed that way, aren`t you happy, Roger ? I got the poodle as an extra together with some Bully-dogs They have both been more or less re-made in the minis-series : [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Now I think I have all the Schleich dogs also. Thanks to Harriet I have the Classic prehistoric, and thanks to Sue and Lesley all the horses ! Oh, happy day |

| Thankyou gals It is hard to remember how it was in the time "Before-The-Forum" with only my dogs to share the joy of getting a figuere that I had sought so long How happy i am to know you (and Roger, Roger, I never forget you again ) Kristie, WOW, yes, couldn`t it be fun if you came here, and we could take all the figueres out of the boxes ? But of course it is nothing compared to Torben, Christophe, Amy etc , but I love every single one of them |

| Very cute :)
He looks like a Foxterrier to me :) he's got the beard on his muzzle. The Bedlington has more of a lamb like appearance and would have shaven ears if cut correctly. Also has a more rounded head. |

Det er lett å snakke dansk også - bare stapp munnen full og snakk norsk. (For the Scandinavian-challenged: Spoken Danish is really easy too - just speak Norwegian with your mouth full. ) Love your site, and that terrier is adorable! |

| Thank you Rio and Sumo You are probably right, Rio, I have never seen a bedlington that had not been groomed and clipped to look almost like a poodle And when they say it is a foxterrier, it probably is a white foxterrier Yes, Sumo, Danish pronunciation has been very much influenced by German, but the words are almost the same as Norwegian. In my opinion Norwegian is a beautyful language, soft and melodious. Only some of the local dialects are very strange and impossible to understand. I once knew some people from Sognefjord, - we had to speak English together |

| If it's any consolation, so do most Norwegians - that particular dialect is probably our most incomprehensible. (Speaking of Danish... [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] |

Good point I Danish we call him Terri ! So perhaps foxterriers could be white then, - perhaps before they became showdogs |

| Lovely addition, and in excellent condition, especially for a 60's figurine... When I was a young lad growing up in Kansas City, we lived next door to a couple with a white Bedlington. It was quite large, and I remember that it always seemed to come into our back yard to leave its droppings! No such problem with your terrier... |

| Thanks for the link, Sumo, they seem to have been lighter in the old days. And much less stocky, I love the dog on that picture. - schleich61 wrote:

| Great additions Susanne! I had this model when i was a kid, and was living in Germany, it got lost in the years... But it is a fox-terrier, only made after the standards of the 1960's and 1970's. A Bedlington is much more different from this model IMHO... [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] |
