Papo 2020 Squirrel

One small, playful, so charming and wonderful fellow came to me and immediately gave me a huge smile

It was one of the Papo 2020 models, which I was really interested in ... I really liked it on the stock photo..
And on real - I just love it ! :)

It's a very nice figure indeed, and it's in stock from where you got it! This is going to be my final Eurasian red squirrel to my collection, to go with the Schleich eating & standing and its old predecessor from 2004

Beautiful pictures and model from Papo! I still think I prefer Collecta's old one (maybe I'll change my mind in comparison), but the pose of this one is the best I've seen for a squirrel.

I think someone should make a model based on your last photo. It would be a best-seller!

Really beautiful red squirrel, and fits very well with the Schleich one :)

This figure was not in my wish list and the first picture was enough to change my mind.
Papo made a squirrel up to another level. The detail is amazing as the light you use clearly shows and the pose is incredible! Pictures from top and bottom show clearly the effort of Papo to give as much dynamism to a figure that is often represented with simple and traditional poses.
Papo was needing a new Squirrel, their old model was quite outdated but they waited so long to bring something really special. I have the current CollectA, my favourite squirrel but the Papo will surely join it. It is rare to see a figure with the head larger than its Schleich counterpart but the whole figure is a big step forward when compared with the lovely Schleich.
Hahah, the picture of the real squirrel is great, it is what they do when we ask their age.

Yes Roger, Schleich is famous with ''big heads'' , but this time Papo is the winner
Actually I think, that because of the bigger ears, the papo one looks with bigger head, but they are both the same size :)

THAT is a squirrel : An increduble little acrobat, full of go and charm, in total ballance, and looking ever so cute  

No wonder they sold out so fast in my usual waterholes

I needed to revisit this great topic. Our woodland winner and still competing for the [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.], is really an outstanding figure. I'm defintely crazy to see it in real. The way Papo worked it is impressive. We tend to not give too much importance to common species but it is essential that we have perfect renditions of these core animals. The French brand is unbeatable in this regard, there's no sick symmetry in this model, from the different ears, to the pose, the legs and even tail, everything shows movement. Te arched back, looks like the squirrel is ready to catch a fly. The long ears, teeth  and the perfect face gives to it a squirrel look that I think we never witnessed before in this hobby. I never thought someone could do it better than the CollectA 2nd generation model but Papo has this thing, when they do something good, it is not just good, it is fantastic.

It is beautiful in every detail, and I'm so glad that Roger has brought this topic back, it was a joy to look at your photos of this amazing squirrel!
Even after becoming a dog collector, I still had to buy it- and holding it in my hand like you it gave me a big smile! It surely must be the best Squirrel figure on the market!

I just found out this topic, it was made when I was so busy at the hospital. It helps me a lot to understand why STS chose it as Woodland figure of the year.
Despite too big eyes for me, it is a great model as Papo is able to produce sometimes. If I have enough money to spend some for a red squirrel,I will find a place for this one.
