PAPO International polar bears :-)

Allow me to introduce my beloved Papo Polar bears to you.

They are fantastic figueres, but mine have a wonderful history.

The spectacular standing one from 2005 came from Portugal. Yes, from Roger, - who else Very Happy

The oldest one from 2003 came from Spokane in Washington, - from Sue !!!!
The sitting bear I got from Germany, and the baby came from another part of Germany.

All made in China by a French compagny, - and now they are here in Denmark Laughing

They are SO different, i love them in each their own way.
My son described them quite well :

I got the baby last, - he is cute, - only I think he got the wrong parent here Shocked

Baby Bear is also from a children`s book, - So cute I love you

Perhaps it is about time that Papo finds a new baby Polar bear to fit the wonderful grown up one they have now , no matter how cute the little cub is Wink

Yes, just imagine, 1/2 year ago I only had one Papo-figuere and never thought about getting any more .

I wonder, the "Fuzzy" one, the oldest ( I love him also, Harriet), is stamped 2003, - how old is the brand Papo? It must be older than that ???????

It seems they started by making fairies, historical figueres etc..it does not say when they started making animal models though scratch

I'm not sure but I think that it was in 2004 and 2003 was the production year for the first range, not sure! Congratulations for your beautiful bear and my opinion is exactly the same of your son! cheers

Thank you, Roger. That sounds reasonable, it says 2003 on the oldest Polar Bear.
I sent a mail to Papo last night through their page. Perhaps they ansver ?

I don`t know why they have yellow paint on them, - my son says it is because they have summer-coat, and it is dirty.
He is a joker, my dear "little" son ( he is 1,85 and 29 years old), but he could be right scratch

Polar bears have not exactly white coats but this is a complex story! They have transparent coat and a black skin, so they are not really white even it looks of this colour! Yellow patches are usual in older bears like greyish hairs in humans! study

So I learned something new today, thanks to Roger, - Polar bears become more yellow with age .

Yes Susanne, you're true about babies. i think the same about baby rhino, I think the father needs another son :)

Yes, it remembers me Schleich with penguins, Papo have a black rhino with a white rhino baby! Isn't it strange??? :)
