Overall , I really like the model. The size is great.. the pose is very nice .. proportions , head is beautiful .. the horn is impressive, how should be.. But my honest opinion about the fur texture is a bit negative .. I think it will be much better if the sculptor used different scale on it, on the body and legs. Now it looks to me a bit boring, with a bit naivety style ... I mean, we see all over the body and legs, the same, big pieces of fur . If the sculptor used also smaller texture , like we see on the head , it will be much more nice and realistic.

Lovely model, but it's too big for me. I wish CollectA would stop making Deluxe in favor of standard-sized figures

What a magnificent model
And a great walkaround as always Beautyful close-ups, great comparisons, and wonderful videos and fun pictures
Also, I must - again - admire your analysis, because THAT is the thing that has disturbed me : The fur is too uniformly fuzzy . If it had been more varied, it would have given a better impression of how huge the animal was

Yes, exactly. That`s why I think , one day to make some thinner fur texture on some places over the body and legs .. and then, to change the colours ... because I am not a fan of this coloration either..

I agree, - and Safari too makes too many of these huge models
I also prefer smaller models. But especially for Elasmotherium, it should be with this size. This is one very big animal. They say, that it was twice as big as modern rhinos.. If you see my comperation photos, it works perfect in size , with the Papo Wolly Rhino, Safari Megacerops ..Papo Cave bear...

I was really awaiting patiently for a walk around of my most wanted prehistoric mammal of ever. Ironically, it took so long to a major brand release one that I am not anymore into prheistoric animal figures. Everyone seems really impressed with the size of this figure, Patrick even tells he got scared with the huge size of the model. I think it is just because we are not used with Elasmotherium figures. Wooly Mammoth , Paraceratherium?, Megacerops, Deinotherium, Arsinoitherium, Daeodon, Moropus, Andrewsarchus, Gomphotherium,, they are all in 1:20 scale so, there's no way, Elasmotherium couldn't be done in a different scale than all of these. As we can see from your last pictures, this was really a huge beast, thus, it would surely result in a very large model. I see it is being sold for 22,50€ while the similarly sized Mammoth from CollectA, already aged, is sold for 19,90€. In my opinion, CollectA decided correctly in this regard. Besides of that, while every brand is favouring for a more marketable wooly rhino, CollectA offered a bolder choice. The model is probably not a masterpiece and I agree with your comments, such a rough fur texture, does not contribute to a detailed appearance and it also do not helps to show how gigantic is this creature as Susanne correctly pointed. I also agree about the head, actually, it is my favourite part of the model. This Elasmotherium is being presented after a few walk arounds about the amazing Eofauna models. Eofauna brought a level of detail and a realistic approach we never witnessed before among major brands. Though, the price level of this figure is the same as Eofauna prehistoric mammals being these made in a much smaller scale. I wish Eofauna introduces also an Elasmotherium and a Paraceratherium, at 1:40 scale, in their range at a certain point and maybe at that time I will have circunstances that will allow me collecting prehistoric animals again. Thanks Kosta for one more wonderful walk around and for keeping our forum in full charge and with a real non pink unicorn!

Yes, yes !!! We should all write to them and ask for more, - preferably prehistoric mammals
Ohhh, if they would make a prehistoric cat, - not neccesarily a smilodon

Thanks for the great review. Scale is always an issue with animal figures, but at least it has one. It can be put with others of similar scale to compare, unlike the vague lines of no certain scale.
