The mention to diecast is to introduce the company as best known for their metal injected car miniatures. It is the same as saying Larami is best known for their water guns or Maia & Borges for their Comics. Diecast is really a term used for metal car miniatures but it is never used to animal figures. Hollowcast is more used with animals. These figures are made of a very rubbery material, at least those I own are. It is one of these Hong Kong companies that make cheap toys to several brands, supermarkets, etc.
Don't be surprised about your leopard/cheetah, this kind of models are always very ambiguous regarding spotted wild cats. Just check this rhino - it is supposed to be a Sumatran rhino and it is clearly an African white rhino. Purely an example of exagerated modularity.
