We have been given a collection of mostly mounted figures. This batch arrived today. All the figures are Schleich, except for the Safari Tigress, which Jaro is riding.

They are some of my favourite looking Schleich fantasy figures as the horses and people have the 2000 till 2008 Schleich looks

Thanks, everyone!

It's strange to think that such detailed, beautiful figures were sold as toys - but I'm sure they started a lot of children off on the collecting game!

You are right, they are beautyful Very Happy
In my opinion, the Bayalas now do not reach them to the ankles Wink

The way you mix them with bareback horses and the tiger makes them even more delightful Applause Applause

Even not being my collecting subject, I see how beautiful are some of these figures. I also enjoy to see them presented in a processional way. Wink

These are lovely! Makes me regret a little not collecting fairies. I remember seeing the in Toys R Us years ago, and thinking they were some of the nicest fairies I'd seen.

I really liked this line of models and have a few, the newer figures aren't my taste. Congrats on the figures!

Inspired by this topic, I fetched this little boy who is riding on a terrible, electric green crocodile.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

I want to give him a nicer friend Very Happy

First I tried the kind, old ostrich from Elastolin, but that was too dangerous for the ostrich Shocked
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

The buffalo must be more hardy, - but the boy scares all the horses, and the buffalo doesn't exactly look pleased Rolling Eyes

Perhaps there is a reason why the boy has a super-green croc for friend ? lol!

Susanne, the Bayala-folk seem to ride their saddled Dragons in this kneeling position. Maybe he is hoping for a Dragon? Perhaps that Crocodile is just practice for Dragon-riding?

More of our gift-riders have arrived, including the mighty War-elephant. The Castlerigg animals are all very interested, and his howdah is being examined by an enthusiastic family of Schleich Quokka.

That sounds right ! And a crocodile may be a good way to practice riding a dragon Laughing

Congratulations with the riders and the magnificent elephant cheers

I would love to see how the other animals receive him bounce
...but it is difficult to take pictures of such a huge model, with such a temperament, he may not stand still Wink

The Medieval and Bayala folk look good with most animals by most makers, so they are settling down to a new life as photographic accessories. The animals treat them as intelligent pets.
