Some of my shelves Empty
PostSubject: Some of my shelves   Some of my shelves EmptyThu May 12, 2011 7:55 pm

Did a bit of shelf arranging, so now at least my birds have a space of their own.
My recently established, constantly growing raptors collection:

Another collection that has increased dramatically: The lemurs. A bit ringtail heavy, but at least I have one aye-aye, a sifaka and a ruffed lemur.

Thanks! It's not such a bad model, although it has certain issues. The problem is of course that this mold and the Bullyland are the only ones I can find in the shops, so that hampers my attempts at diversity a little. I'm currently working on a pewter model from Games Workshop, but those are expensive and rather fragile. Hopefully my package from MPV gets here soon, I'm dying to see what the Collecta eagle is like!

You'll have to look out for the Mojo bald eagle too - looks like a really nice sculpt!

Beautyful collections, Sumo. I love them all, your repaints are very fine and impressive cheers

It looks really good with those see-through boxes, are they made of glass or clear plastic ? A good way to get some of the figueres a bit up, so one can see them Very Happy

They're plastic, apparently they're originally meant to keep cards in. I was going to use them for tiny dioramas, but these things take so much time...
I know some people have all sorts of cool stands and risers to make multilevel displays on their shelves, but so far I haven't found anything better than this.

Great collection Sumo, I already said the job is excellent but it's great to watch them all together Cool

You can also think about the PAPO bald eagle to repaint :

And, of course, if you need already painted good eagles models, there is the fantastic COLORATA set Cool cheers

By the way which brand is your ruffed lemur model ?

Update! Found these neat little shelflets at the hobby store. Unfortunately they don't have room for the bigger models, but at least it makes the tinies a little more visible.

I decided my cartoony little Papo vulture might appreciate a new look - not that purple eyeshadow isn't attractive on a bird - and I've been wanting an Egyptian vulture for a while now.

Your latest repaint is fantastic Sumo, I love the way you do their eyes! And those shelves were a great find, perfect for your smaller birds.

Congratulations with your new shelves, - very useful, they may even fit into a bookshelf so more little figueres can be show, or ?

I just LOVE what you made out of that cartoon-vulture, now it looks like a real bird cheers

...I think this California condor from a small animal series by Nayab (I have it too). It,s very small figurine (approximately 1/2 part of Safari analogue). There are one more the same birds - mandarine duck, bald eagle, goose, owl, cormorant, nos-horn (Bucerotidae) and some others...

That's the one! Mine's repainted, but he looked just like yours originally. I have a few of the other birds from the same line, they really are pretty nice.
Love your collection! Very Happy

Nice birds, and great way to show them Very Happy

I just love that little falcon, the one with the lightbrown breast and grey wings, - ohhhh, there are SO many fantastic birds of prey. Good that some make models of them !
