| Dear friends! I want to expand this part of my collection (I only have the Schleich manta ray and guitar fish). But I have different issues with all the models available... Among the easily available models the only real candidates are the following:
- Cownose ray: I like the Safari one, but I think it's too big... Any comparison and thougts about this?
- Common stingray: again, the Safari is available, but it belongs to the WW series and, so, it's quite big. However, I know these critters can be huge so... Is it worthy?
- Leopard whipray: I can get the Colorata's, but I find this one veeeeery yellow, while real animal is more brownish.
- Sawfish: they all look "ugly" to me because of the blunty teeth. The CollectA one can be ok, is it?
Any other I should take into consideration??
As always, many thanks for your advices. They were really useful for my birds of pray, many are coming to my house. I would proudly show you when they arrive.
Thanks! |

| These fishes are fascinating and beautyful, but I know too little about them to be of any help |

| I don't know what means too big or too small, it is a too subjective criterion.
I have and love the Safari Ltd Cownose ray (the small one), the Leopard whipray and the CollectA Sawfish.
The Cownose ray is a charming model. It's scale is between 1/7 to 1/10. The Leopard whipray is not as yellow as you can see in TAW pic (even if it's mine) but of course not really brown. The scale is 1/40. The Sawfish was the best available for me when I bought it. It think it's still the case. Scale is around 1/30 to 1/35. |

| Hum... I see. I didn't expect the whipray to be as small. Do you know what is the average scale of main brand sharks? I think it's also around 1:30 to 1:35. |

| Hello, Batoidea is a superorder rather than an order, is composed of various orders (Rajiformes, Pristiformes, Torpediniformes, I don't know if there are more... (I include myliobatids amongst Rajiformes))
The Collecta sawfish is the sawfish that I chosen for my collection, so it must be good. I sharpened its teeth anyway, but indeed it was almost no visual difference from before doing it! _________________ My collection:- (Details):

Do you know what is the average scale of main brand sharks? I think it's also around 1:30 to 1:35. No, it is very variable. I don't have a lot ( except Colorata small ones ) but what I can tell is: CollectA Zebra Shark is 1/15 to 1/25. Colorata Japanese Bullhead Shark is between 1/13 and 1/15. Colorata Blacktip Reef Shark is 1/20. Colorata Sand Tiger Shark is 1/30. Kitan Club Frilled shark is 1/15. Safari Ltd Bull shark is between 1/12 and 1/22. Safari Ltd Bonnethead is between 1/6 and 1/10. Safari Ltd Brownbanded bamboo shark is between 1/4 and 1/5. Safari Ltd Nurse shark is between 1/18 and 1/30. Schleich Blue shark is between 1/18 and 1/22. Schleich Spotted Wobbegong is between 1/15 and 1/25. |

| Wow too many scales there... I don't know, I thougt my sharks were more or less balanced. At least in relative terms. That's what I dont want a cownose ray bigger than a great white, for example.
Thanks Christophe! |

| Too many scales and too many models I love... That's the point ! Thats' why I reorganised my displays by scale so i can collect the models I want. |
