| Does anyone can confirm the species? My translator gives this: Horseshoe Jellyfish, maybe Moon Jellyfish Red jellyfish, Lion's mane Jellyfish? Dogwood Jellyfish, what's that? Pacific Sea Netle - bmathison1972 wrote:

They tell they can be removed from the capsule, is it what you mean? |

| I think the list is not perfect yet but I suspect I'm getting closer: Also, names like Moon jelly or Pacific sea nettle are used to different species. カブトクラゲ Lobatolampea tetragona?
アカクラゲ Chrysaora melanaster northern sea nettle
ハナガサクラゲ Olindias formosus Flower hat jelly
パシフィックシーネットル Pacific sea nettle Chrysaora fuscescens
ミズクラゲ Aurelia aurita? Moon jellyfish
I often use Wikipedia for translation from Japanese (perhaps you do too), and it confirms the northern sea nettle, flower hat jelly and moon jellyfish, but the other jellyfish don't seem to have entries in the Japanese Wikipedia. |

Yes, when I find the Japanese text, I use it on Japanese Wikipedia, without translator, then I locate the corresponding link for English Wikipedia. I surely couldn't identify them through visual observation. My results are the same as yours but the moon jellyfish links to the genus page but they often do A. aurita once it is the common moon jellyfish. For Pacific sea nettle I used a translator and it translated to Pacific sea nettle, this name is used in English for C. melanaster but there is already a direct correspondence to that species. It can also be a different color of the same species or still the Japanese sea nettle (C. pacifica). Lobatolampea tetragona is probably wrong, maybe it is Bolinopsis mikado カブトクラゲ kabutokurage - kurage is Japanese word for jellyfish even if this particular one is not a true jellyfish.
