| I found a surprise the other day when I was repacking my collection. About 90% is permanently packed away for the time being, and I came across a batch of Starlux I had completely forgotten I even had and a while ago I had spent ages looking at some figures on here for sale and drooling over them. Only to discover the other day that I already had them! Here they are, one of each, but I've taken lots of pics. All except the mother giraffe who came from [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] |

| Very nice and they look to be in excellent condition. Glad you discovered them before you bought them again although that wouldn't be a bad thing either |

| What nice finds! Starlux are such beautiful figures, and those are really nice. I love the bison especially, he's so expressive, and the elegant panther. Also love all those tiny friends in the earlier post! Those skunks are indeed really precious, but that tiny llama is also excellent. And that cat is SO tiny!! |

| Very interesting animals in your collection. My favorite is the dimetrodon by Toy Mayor. It is splendid figure. |

| Great bunch of Starlux you found. Nothing better than discovering that you already have the figures that you wanted. The lion, moose and rhino are my favourites. Christophe's giraffe looks fantastic too; my impression is that it is quite rare. It may be better not to store Starlux in boxes. I don't know whether it is true, but some people believe it is better to air them to prevent the acetate disease. |

ha ha yes that would be funny and nice! I nearly did buy the bison again but I ended up choosing some other 'more wanted's instead indeed they are all in pristine condition. Funny how I cannot remember getting them, it must have been a very very long time ago. - Jill wrote:

thank you Jill, yes Starlux are beautiful - elegant and interesting! and thanks for liking the tiny friends too - I got the minuscule fawn coloured cat from @whitelighteningwolf and the black sitting one too. Can't remember where I got the tiny llama from. The skunks have a lot of detail in them and are very characterful - landrover wrote:

It is splendid figure. Thank you very much! I'm quite an eclectic collector and I have a few dinosaurs as well - widukind wrote:

Indeed Roger, it was a big surprise. I'm so happy to have the big giraffe, and very happy to discover that I had the baby too :) The fine detailing on the lion is wonderful, and I love the rhino's detail too, it is very special with all the lumps and the moose has very fine antlers and legs I think these have been stored in a cardboard box for well over 15years. Each was wrapped in thick kitchen roll paper with plenty of space around them. Perhaps that makes a difference ? - Taos wrote:

I will have to lookout for those lovely Striped Skunks! Thank you Taylor! I will also keep an eye out for the skunks for you too |

| here are some flocked made in China models that I got a while ago the large ones have Totsy, Made in China on a gold sticker under them and nothing under the small zebra and kudu - which are exactly the same mould as Toy Concepts animal friends there is no mark in the baby kudu's forehead for horns [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.][You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]and I got the rest of the little Toy Concepts animals in a super trade with Bowhead Whale ! Thank you Bowhead Whale ! I love flocked animals a lot :) and have a few different ones in my collection. When I was in primary school I went to a local wildlife park and I remember spending time in the park's shop looking at all the animal toys. With my pocket money I bought some small ones and also a beautiful larger flocked sitting tiger that I still have today. here they are all together the oryx from this set is on my wishlist [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] |

| The flocked animals are so nice, and nostalgic - I have vague memories of seeing them a very long time ago, though I never owned any, so perhaps it was in a zoo or wildlife park gift shop, we did go to a couple of those on school trips. The kudu is my favourite, just lovely to see a more unusual species outside the typical choices for these ranges. |

thank you! a flocked zebra sounds wonderful! I think they were maximizing the park's income by providing for all animal lovers I was happy to see animal toys anywhere I went - George wrote:

thank you Alain! yes the Starlux is a beautiful make :) I think my favourite may be the eating zebra, which I am lucky to have I looked on the wiki page I can't see any reference to the wolf there! Do you have a photo of it ? |
