Great addition, one of the harder Britains zoo animals to find. Some people say it looks too much like a human, but I have always liked them, both the brown and polar bear cub.

According to Richard Lewis, a well know collector of zoo items, the Brown bear, Cub standing on hind legs is Very hard to find.

This is Richard's third category after Extremely RARE and RARE.

In all a great find Taylor and nice one Phil aka goatherder.

This is a rare one indeed.
I was told the brown bear cub was only made for 1 or 2 years. After that the model was used for the polar bear.
I also have 2 brown ones, with the ever so faint colour difference. I cant realy describe the colours. Also the base is slightly off.
And i have the polar bear too, with some general made-in-china copies. Bad onces I may add.

I too have the copy of the cub.

Thanks to Striped hyena I have acquired the Joel Waterbuck,this one has been on my wishlist for a long time.
Here he is with some Britains friends and the Timpo Impala and with the few other Joel models I have.

Amazing that you now have this beautiful and so rare figure!!

Yes,the Waterbuck is one of the best and am so happy to have gotten him after such a long wait.I remember seeing him advertised with all the other Joel models on the back page of a wildlife magazine.I had collected all these magazines including the one with the Joel models but sadly lost them all in a house move about 12yrs ago.
