A few years ago, I have bought a Starlux boa but it was all over green, so I decided to give a boa constrictor pattern to it: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] .. last week I bought another one, not too expensive (10 euros), with its original pattern! :)

In Portugal, there's a little supportive word that we use when someomne does anything well done. It is "Boa!" It really means well done or just good. Boa is not enough for what you do,.

This is such a wonderful repaint- it looks so detailed and realistic, you have captured that pattern so well and it's so recognisable! The texture is so good too, so smooth- just like a real snake!

Very nice, it's amazing what a good realistic paintjob can do for a basic model, it looks great with this detailed pattern

Annette, the model I repainted as "constrictor" is the one on the right side! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] |

Beautifully painted. Was the original Starlux also meant to be a constrictor?

As explained up, my original one was only green and, I suppose, unpainted, but the most of them present the pattern like on the model on the left side and were (and are!) just called "boa". Since the "constrictor" is the one that is the better known, we can suppose it's rather this species.. but as its pattern is not easy to paint in mass production context, it has been simplified. The women who had to paint them had to follow a pattern model but as they were hand painted, all these boas are a little different from the other ones.. and now rather expensive! :)
