| I didn’t get any owl, rodent, insect, or arachnid toys recently, but there have been more than a few scares regarding some figures I planned to buy. I missed the PV langur and wanderoo, and an entire Nat Geo box set of lizards and crocodilians gave up the ghost (“Sorry, you missed out on this item”). Luckily, the seller of the monkeys had some parrots available. I sent a message to reserve the one that is currently up (the species name of which will not be mentioned) as well as some more PV figures, but only time will tell. |

| UPDATE: I did successfully reserve the Black-headed Parrot. I also managed to reserve the following others:
PV: Blue-Headed Parrot Osprey Hooded Seal Lehmann’s Poison Frog Ecuadorian Poison Frog Muskox American Bison False Gharial (In the messages, this was stated to be the very rare Gharial from the so-called “Indian Animals” set. The photos show what looks like the light variant of the False Gharial from the Crocodilians set of 1996. Oddly, this variant is simply marked “GHARIAL”. This adds a lot of wrinkles to the mystery of the Chitwan NP Gharial. Was this the “Gharial” released in the Chitwan set? Was this the reason the False Gharial had a variant but the other crocodilians did not? Could it be a case of recoloring and renaming existing molds, like the Arctic Wolf? And if so, was the gharial pictured in the Wing Mau catalog an unreleased prototype? If anyone has a light 1996 False Gharial that is just marked Gharial?)
K&M: SUPER RARE North American Cougar, Grizzly Bear, Bighorn Sheep, and Elk Endangered Bulk Ring-tailed Lemur Asian Animals Bulk Siberian Ibex |

| It should go without saying that these skeletons are inaccurate. 1: The bones in a cobra’s hood do not necessarily look like that. 2: Ears are not part of a bat’s skeleton. 3: Spiders are invertebrates that have no bones or endoskeleton at all. These things are common sense (especially the last of these). |

| I don't actually celebrate Halloween, but I have ended up with one of Breyer's little Halloween horses, a gift from an American friend who helped me collect a lot of my older Stablemates. He's printed with a skeletal pattern which glows in the dark, but I'm not sure how I'd manage to get a decent photo of that, so here he is just in the daylight being non-glowy _________________ |

| Obviously. They were never meant to be realistic after all. |

| Some of those insects shown by Babdo (large ants, grey spider, maybe the mantis) are knockoffs of old Bullyland figures. They show up here in the US on eBay and in dollar stores, too. |
