Paleocasts Prehistoric Animals Empty
PostSubject: Paleocasts Prehistoric Animals   Paleocasts Prehistoric Animals EmptyThu Nov 25, 2021 4:54 pm

On Etsy, Paleocasts is a shop run by Patrick May in Chicago. He makes figures of obscure Paleozoic marine species (just my kind of animal) and sells them for great prices. He is currently on a break, but I purchased several things from him in the past year. I decided to make a topic where people can post pictures of Paleocasts models and discuss them.

Leanchoilia

Age: Cambrian
Scale: 3x Life Size

And I also bought a Trilobite cast set from multiple different eras.

Asaphus & Neoasaphus

Age: Ordovician
Scale: 1:1

Eurypterus (sea scorpions)
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Age: Silurian
Scale: 1:2

Dalmanites, Maurotarion, & Paralejurus

Age: Silurian
Scale: 1:1

Harpes, Hollardops, & Eldredgeia

Age: Devonian
Scale:  1:1

Phacops rana (casts from both African and American localities)

Age: Devonian
Scale: 1:2

And he also takes commissions, so I emailed him a commission of several Carboniferous figures he used to make. I’ll update once something happens. These images are not mine. They were taken by Halichoeres and Patrick May.

Glaphurochiton

Paleolimilus & Euproops (Horseshoe Crab cousins)

Mazon Creek Eurypterid

Tullimonstrum gregarium “Tully Monster”
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Dithyrocaris

Bandringa Shark

If I am to succeed and these commissions make it into my collection, my Carboniferous group will increase exponentially.

UPDATE: Mr. May responded that the figures I wanted are available. I’ll soon be able to populate my Carboniferous collection with fauna 😃. I’ll post the pictures here, but I’ll put a commentary and description on my collection update.
