Yes it had to be a small specimen to be 1/32, but since I regroup most of my modern animals in the closest available scate, I supposed it would somehow fit. Binomial name: Nannopterygius enthekiodon (Hulke, 1871) Classification: Ichthyosauromorpha->Ichthyosauriformes->Ichthyopterygia->Eoichthyosauria->Ichthyosauria->Hueneosauria->Longipinnati->Merriamosauria->Neoichthyosauria->Thunnosauria->Ophthalmosauridae->Ophthalmosaurinae Time: Kimmeridgian (Late Jurassic) Formation: Kimmeridge Clay Formation (present-day UK) Manifacturer and date of release: somebody in the atelier of Zhao Chuang Sculptor: PNSO, 2016 Scale: 1:38 [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Despite being identified as Ophthalmosaurus, to me the proportions of the PNSO mini look more closely matching Nannopterygius, expecially in flipper size. _________________ "Dinosaurs lived sixty five million years ago. | [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] the Safari is another really nice model, I haven't got one myself only because it's like 1/50 and at that time it would've looked lonely next to bigger 1/40 models. _________________ "Dinosaurs lived sixty five million years ago. | Interesting figure. When I saw the top part first, I thought it looked like a drinking straw. What is its function? |

| [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] it's still up to debate but probably it has something to do with changing the orientation of the animal to the surface or the sea floor. Here are some papers on the matter: Hoffmann et al. 2021 Kakabadze, 2016 Monks & Young, 1998 _________________ "Dinosaurs lived sixty five million years ago. Might even be Maastrichtian* (late Cretaceous) Formation: Djadochta Formation (present day China) Manifacturer and date of release: Kaiyodo, 2004 Sculptor: Seishi Yamamoto Scale: 1:28 [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]*recent studies suggest that the entire Nemegt, Barun Goyot and Djadochta might be more or less contemporaneous habitats instead of diachronous formations as preoviously suggested. This is still the nicest looking Protoceratops around, if you ask me. Amazing paintjob for such a small figure. _________________ "Dinosaurs lived sixty five million years ago.
