Plastic Farm Collection - New additions 4-AUG-2022

unbelievely realistic at this scale!

I am particularly fond of the Britains goats and dogs. The later Suffolk/Charollais sheep and Blackface/Welsh mountain sheep are very good too. I am not so good at collecting humans, but they are very well sculpted too. What are the men with the sprayers (?) doing?

Would you be happy to take an individual photo of the tan horse with rider? It isn't on TAW yet.

Sure I can get you a photo of that horse. The men with the sprayers are for the milking parlour ( I guess to clean the udders?)

Impressive cattles collection!

Watching this topic at once is an amazing experience. It is like visiting the English Museum of Rural Life. There's no randomness of generic looking things. Everything is made up to the most accurate detail. The perfect proportions, the breeds we would expect to find in a British farm, the different poses, the tractor replicated from a real one, probably commonly used in English farms and all those humans representing a pure legacy of the rural world.
It is impressive as a collection but also each individual piece has a lot to tell. Thanks for providing us this exhibition in its most cultural meaning and I hope you can find the few pieces missing to enrich this treasure.

They really are fantastic, so handsome and realistic in sculpting, and it's nice to see varied breeds.

Although I do like them as they are, it's almost a shame the paint application is quite hurried and basic (no shading, some oddly applied markings or feet, occasional wonky eyes) as they'd look stunning done with modern spray and masking techniques and a little more care.
There'd be a definite market for a sort of 'Deluxe Britains' range nowadays, with these masterful old sculpts in modern seamless style (like Schleich finishing, where you never see the moulding marks), and updated paintwork quality.

I quite agree! I am partial to the sprayed finish and would be nice to see some of the older models brought back.

Superb collection again I have seen the dark duck with ducklings before and the Ayrshires are wonderful and so hard to come by now The Labrador brings back memories as it came with a farmer and a Landrover.
