- Thank you, Scott. The difficulty is that TAW has a list of all (?) Britains farm animals and I am trying to match your photos to this list. I don't know where the TAW list came from or whether it is always correct. I have now changed it to:
516 Fowl 1946 1959 Post war grouping of various fowl 516 Speckled Fowl 1921 1941 Grouped together with other fowl as # 516 post war 517 White Fowl 1921 1941 Grouped together with other fowl as # 516 post war 518 Yellow Fowl 1921 1941 Grouped together with other fowl as # 516 post war
Hope this makes sense. Do you know what #585 was? TAW just says "Britains lead".
Thanks Roger, looks good to me, I will check #585 when I get home. - Bonnie wrote:

#585 does not appear to have had a figure assigned to it. Those chickens are #643 White Leghorn Prize Poultry Cocks and Hens standing and feeding On TAW the feeding sheep you have them the wrong way round, the top sheep is the 2nd version. The page is looking good though, thanks :)

Thanks, it's amazing how many chickens Britains made at the same time. Thanks for checking the sheep on TAW. Are you sure? I assumed this lead sheep was the later one because it was later also produced in plastic:

Yep that is the first version. Just like the lead bull with the flying tail was used for the plastic version. Weird why they did it that way though.

Interesting. With the bull I can understand that they first made it with a flying tail but because it was too fragile in metal, they changed it. Then because plastic is less fragile, they went back to the flying tail. In this case, In this case, it is less clear why they used the old version for plastic.

I think the older sheep would have used less plastic? I also think it looks better so maybe they used that to compete with Herald before they bought them? |

Yes, perhaps something like that was the reasoning behind it. I am now getting to the cattle. Are these two different versions of #509 calf standing? And is this #786 Ayrshire calf, while the black-and-white version is simply #534 Calf lying?

Those are both the same calf #509, top one is the 2nd version. The lying down calf is also #534 just a different colour than the black and white. The Ayrshire calf is a completely different mould.
