REVOGEO - Procambarus clarkii

News from WF 2022 Jpan[Summer].

The new REVOGEO series is Procambarus clarkii, the red version is expected to be released in March 2023, the blue version has not yet been determined.

It really does, what an incredible level of detail and wonderful paintwork. Is that lifesize? I've never seen a real lobster but I've seen people hold one on tv

if anything like other Revogeo figures it will be larger than life-sized.

Kaiyodo's new products arouse a lot of expectation... The ArtPla Zoo set was not going to be less, information was trickling in and it was discovered that the pieces would come unpainted, and also that they would have to be assembled. Well, it didn't seem ideal but I couldn't resist a hyena, a warthog, a honey badger or an aardvark that came from Kaiyodo.
Yesterday I set out to assemble them and the process and result was disappointing.
You have to use glue to put the figure together, not like the rest of the Kaiyodo figures that need to be simply assembled.
Building a 4cm figure like the warthog with such tiny parts is not easy at all.
After those cold sweats and despite having taken all the care possible, the pieces do not fit perfectly, there are gaps between them (see photo of the warthog's head). Apart from this, the truth is that the detail of the modelling is spoilt by the tiny size and the lack of precision of the joints.
Now it's time to paint it...
Kaiyodo, maybe next time you'd better market figures like this in a different format:...

Yeah I think those should be described as kits rather than figurines as they require quite a lot of work to get them finished. And special tools and techniques. It's still a cool looking warthog though!
Maybe before you paint it you could try filling the seamlines with some kind of clay, like greenstuff or Apoxie or something like that?

I got nearly all of my Japanese figures via Brett. His service and prices are excellent. He provides a service that allows you to bid on Japanese auction sites (similar to Ebay). This way, I have been able to collect many rare Japanese figures that I wouldn't have been able to find in any other way.

As you can see, I am not one that posts very much.  But when I saw the question about where to buy Kaiyodo figures, I too thought immediately of Brett.  I have been purchasing figures from Japan from him and his sources for probably 15 years.  As rogerpgvg noted, you can bid on Japanese auction sites, but you can also purchase "Buy It Now" (or BIN) lots, many of which contain a wide variety of Japanse gashapon type figures.  He also regularly orders from retail sites which have Kinto Favorite, Eikoh, Colorata, and other such notable collectibles.  I have nothing but praise for Brett and his services.  I have met him in person and he's quite a nice fellow.  And, just so you know, he's not paying me to say any of this . . .
