| There is a similar thread on the Dinosaur Toy Forum, only scarier. Some people from Hong Kong copied the member's resin T-Rex sculpture and now he is constantly zooming on ebay and trying to cancel their illegal auctions. Here's the link: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]It is something normal for Asian companies to copy others... |

| Is a shame for asian! I did see a lot of pirated replica when I was on a recent trip in China. I felt sorry for the artist. |

| Its not a shame for asian. I think, the brands produced not at home. They produced in china, because that is not expensiv- and thats the matter. Asian animals figurines are the best- my opinion. I love colorata, kaiyodo and yujin. This are asian animals!!! - ken yeo wrote:

| I think that are not asian companies. I think thats are the people they produceed for the brands. In the freetime they produceed for himself without a label. Than for himself or other collectors / childs, they cant buy the brands. Why produceed all companies in china? Its not expensive. - Wildheart wrote:

| I remember Kiki saying that the Safari penguin was very similar to the Coloratta but I never noticed that it was so close! It's hard for me to accept similar figures as copies but this time I think I cannot defend Safari!!! An American copying an Asian???? Incredible! |

yeah! Some people are just too lazy to create something for themselves. Those AAA tiger sharks, I have two of the giant ones, they're quite scary _________________ Harriet My *Collection* My *Handmade Animal Sculpture*

| Copying each other is very common in the toy world and it's not quite new. But it's not the same copying a model and use the same mold. YUJIN used some PLAYVISION molds in the early 2000's, some were still stamped PV, only the colours changed. And now a pic of the ostrich made by BLANCHERIE FRERES and BRITAINS in the 1920's. The molds were not exactly the same

Here is a Made in China together with the well known small Manta ray from AAA, that was sold also by Schleich and Bully : [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] But AAA is Made in China. So they have the license for this model. Schleich only sold it even but bought it from AAA. |
