Safari Ltd Retired Figures 2023

After finding out that the entire Monterey Bay Aquarium series was discontinued, I was curious to see what else is retiring this year.

Thankfully, when I visited Safari's flagship store in Florida, they had new 2023 catalogs available along with last years. So I got both and compared them. I was quite shocked to find a lot of things retired in just one year.

So here is a list of everything I couldn't find on the 2023 catalog but was still in production last year.

Great job Jolie! It is not an easy task to compare two catalogues to build a list like this. I appreciate your effort and you even added pictures.
It is a pity to see some of them being retired, especially those fantastic models from the Wild Safari Wildlife series.
I still miss a few of them despite having corresponding models from other brands. I'm sure that animals like warthog, babirusa or Sumatran rhino are poor sellers but they're surely among the nicest models Safari ever released.

Yes I was sad to see so many beautiful figures go. Thankfully I have all the wildlife/sealife retiring except for the warthog. I may have to pick it up even though I already have many warthogs.

Always very useful to know which figures are retiring. I need to check carefully whether there are any I still need.

It seems like the Shringasaurus and Qianzhousaurus were only released a couple years ago...

There's probably still lots of stock left at least.

Our precious Safari is gone too far from us, massive retirements this year and poor quality new products this year. Much like Schleich.

The new King vulture, Megamouth, Snub-nose monkey and Moon bear is all the dependent by CollectA and Mojo in the future. They are the "mercy toy brands" that makes most products classics as perpetual as possible we should support and i'm almost quitting Safari due to this.

That's your opinion but I don't think new Safari models are showing a lower quality. It is also good to recall that during the confinement Safari Ltd had severe difficulties to survive but fortunately they're resuming their normal activity. My complaint is only about the prices, especially the new cougar is very expensive.

Also I'm still unsure if the Wildlife Wonders red panda is discontinued. It is listed under the hot deals section, but it is still listed in the 2023 catalogue... So I don't know if I should add it to the list or not.

We traditionally assume a figure is retired in the year we can't find it anymore in a catalogue. Probably they have stopped production but they still have stock enough to list it as available.
