| 2005: From the Pets series - the dog. Schleich does not specify a particular breed here. 2005: From the Animal Babies series - Puppy with Ball - here too, no breed is specified. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

| And now it becomes interesting again. In 2005, the Fox Terrier was introduced - a figure that already existed in 1995. For comparison - 1st picture from 2005, 2nd picture from 1995. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] |

| Your collection is absolutely impressive and maybe you're right about these variations although most of the figures made in China were sold in Europe. I asked another collector who is completing the whole Schleich series and he has never seen that German shepherd keychain. |

| Hey Polidschatz, welcome to the STS forum! Your presentation about the Schleich dogs is really interesting. I totally agree. I've also noticed how different the versions from China and Germany are. The German ones are much more detailed and realistic in their painting. Some years ago, I heard from a German collector, that the keychain dogs were only available in limited numbers at a toy fair in Nürnberg. Some years ago, I found a keychain with the black Labrador Retriever in a lot. I sold the labrador keychain again and later I haven't seen any more keychain versions around. No keychain with dogs or also no keychain with other animals. _________________ Yvette

| Hello 75senta75, I know what you’re talking about. Keychains like that from the Nuremburg toy-fair are still on my wishlist, I also have one with a name included. They were probably special gifts by Schleich for their sellers. Later on, they also released Keychains with different animals, such as bearded dragons, ponies, rabbits, pigs, or pugs. Completely neutral, and without that white plastic “tag“, on which one could print individually. The keychains with the dogs from the classic-series from the 1970s or 80s (Grey and brown dachshund, german shepherd, red cross german shepherd and poodle) and especially that dachshund with the ball on ist tail – those are also very rare. I have already posted them on this site. The keychains caught my attention by pure chance. When I saw them, I thought that they must also belong to a figurine collection. Nowadays I’m very happy to have bought them – back when their price was still acceptable. In my opinion, the doghouses also belong to the dog figurines. There are different variants of those too, naturally I’ll post them later on as well. The oldest one is out of the same period as the Classic figurines. Since it‘s not labeled as a product by Schleich, it must have landed in the trash quite frequently. I’ll post a picture here, but I don’t believe that I’ll ever buy that doghouse. | The doghouse really is extremely rare. So rare that it practically only exists in theory. You might find it by chance at one of the many flea markets in Munich, for example at the Olympiapark or the giant flea market on the Theresienwiese. You often find the best treasures when you weren't expecting them. _________________ Yvette

| You seem to be quite knowledgeable about Munich!
I'm not much of a flea market enthusiast, unfortunately. A big mistake, I know. |

| 2010 Pug family: Male dog beige, female dog black and the puppies. In addition, there's another keychain, that likely also comes from the toy fair, although there's no company logo on the keychain. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] |

| Oh, how wonderful that everything is translated this time. I wonder if those dogs known as 1:12 scale are Maia & Borges designs. The figures feature a distinctive design from the Portuguese manufacturer. They are slightly chubby, but in a way that does not sacrifice the realism of the figures; instead, it makes them very appealing. They also boast a level of finishing quality that no other brand was able to provide during the time they were available. |

| By doing that, you save yourself a ton of work! My browser translates all posts into German, sometimes a bit clumsily worded, but mostly conveying the meaning.
Unfortunately, I can't answer who designed the dog figures here. I might have to check the Schleich book released for the company's anniversary. All the recently displayed figures were exclusively manufactured in China." |

| And here is a rare gem from 2013 in the original packaging: No. 41353 Scenery Pack World of Nature Farm Life - exclusively produced for the American market. Golden Retriever Female 16335, Male 16377, Puppy 16378 each in a special color. I'll just speculate that the coat color "white" is more common in the USA than it is here in Germany.
