Here are all my Alllgau cattle. The Papo model is slightly different to the others so may Alain is right and it should be adjusted to Aubrac?

It is because of this colour dress I thought it was an Aubrac cattle but since Allgaü cattle exists.. I just have to give mine to a cattles collector and to hope Papo will release an Aubrac one!

When this Papo model has bee released in 2012, after the Salers one, I red Aligaû with my old eyes, thought there was a mistake with its name, was sure it was an Aubrac cattle and never checked till before yesterday! :)

I think maybe that there were quite a few Allgua models released at the same time and maybe Papo released this model at the same time.

So what is the Papo then? An Allgäu or an Aubrac?
The cattle of my region, recently saved from extinction, has a somewhat similar name although it looks more like a Limousin.

That's very interesting, Alain! I would love to know in your opinion or Taylor's, which of the current cattle figures looks more like the Algarvian cattle? I know this breed will never be released in toy shape, it is almost unknown here and not relevant economically. Thus, I might a different breed to represent it in my little farm.
Here's another photo.

According to me, the Salers one is the closest by its colour dress and horns shape. It is also a mixt (meat and milk) very rustic breed, so you have the Papo one who can do the job!.. :)

Thanks Alain, maybe the Papo cow?
Curiously I have this little model of what seems to be a Saler's or a similar breed. It is said to be a Lutin figure from Spain. Maybe it is inspired by a Starlux figure. It is already reserved to a friend on forum but I really want one at a larger scale.

Taylor, I apologize for taking too much center stage in the discussion and veering off the main subject.

I would agree with Alain in saying that that Salers looks the closest to your Portuguese breed. The little model looks lovely!

With regards to the Papo cow, should be go with the original as an Allgau as Popo has been really good at creating accurate models of cattle breeds?

Thanks Sirs, I deleted the Aubrac Cattle page and the Papo model returned to its original identification as an Allgäu.
Thanks also for suggesting the Saler's to me, I will get it eventually.

I found locally the reissued version of the Saler's cow, the earlier version is impossible to find now.
I want to thank Alain and Taylor for suggesting it to me as the closest to an Algarvian cow.
There was the Limousin too which is a more impressive model but this is the one I wanted and I like it too.
