| About fifteen years ago, I started to do that with a kind of clay called "Plastiroc" : [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] .. By these times I did not know yet WePAM paste, and this sticky material, difficult to work, did not allow me to do what I wanted and, horrified by the result I hided it in a box I found back a few weeks ago. Then, I decided to continue the job with WePAM paste to get a Scimitar cat: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] .. and with painting: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Of course I know it is not perfect but I tried to serve the main Homotherium charasteristic features: rather long legs and neck, falling back line, deep chin to contain long fangs. Since we know now that the fangs were entirely covered by lips, I did not have to show them! :) here with some Smilodons for size comparison: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Please, tell me honestly if I was right to achieve the job.. |

| Great sculpt! It must be very satisfying to finish a model after such a long time. You did well to keep it so long. |

| I don't even know why you ask that? Surely you were right. :) You started it before Bullyland releasing its model, I guess. |

what a beauty Alain, well done! So glad you decided to resurrect it and present it here. when I saw this in the home page at the bottom pics I thought it was such a beautiful figure! the face is exceptionally well done with the detailing around the eyes, and the round eyeball as well. The way the ears sit back and softly on the head and the way the jaw is formed - truly a feast for my eyes And I really like the curve in the body and the way the back slopes. Very good attention to detail and not to mention the complimentary coat you have given him / her. Are these Schleich type scale models it is with?? |

| Many thanks to you all Andreas, Taylor, Christophe, Roger, Fernando, Rogério, Annette and Paige! Christophe, it is my first "from scratch" model. :) Rogério, to my knowledge, Bullyland never produiced a scimitar cat but "only" 2 smilodons, an eusmilus and a machairodus. To my knowledge, none scimitar cat was produiced by the main brands. :) Annette, yes I think my model fits rather well with the smilodons it is with. Homotherium was a little higher than smilodon but lighter.. :) |

You're right, I was talking from memory and thinking about the machairodus as a homotherium. Sorry for that. :) |
