Dragons with fish scales

It all started out as a joke.

I guess most of you already know that old legend about a koi fish that can turn into dragon, if it travels upstream and reaches the top of the river. I always loved that legend and at the same time was wondering, if such a dragon retains the koi colors. And what happens if it's not a koi, but a crucian carp that jumps through the threshold? Or a salmon? Or even a mackerel? Would they turn into dragons too?
I shared the idea with a friend of mine, Elena Slavgorodskaya of Ardha Studio, and she liked it so much that decided to help me find the answers.

(The last two dragon numbers, however, have nothing to do with fish scales and their design's based on water dragon from "Honkai: Star Rail" game)

These dragons are amazing!
I must say that I've never heard of that legend before but I really like it. And the way it pushes your imagination is very impressive. I especially like the blue ones and the Koi inspired one.

I had that idea, about the dragon clad in fishscales, in the middle of the night, lol.
There's no dragon in koi colors in my collection, but I commissioned one from the studio as a gift for a friend of mine.
