| Welcome to the forum to from me to Chris! It is always nice to see and hear from the home-country of Britains, and specially the knowledge. I knew about the bases, but they are easy to change, so if a base is original always... I didn't try to change them on the different models. Anyway, you can put the lightblue base on the flamingo if you like, so how do we know if it was originally there... For the bearcubs the same... _________________ http://www.collectorsquest.com/collector/1313/willybacoman

| Thanks for the welcome Harriet, Willy and Andreas. I have been collecting Herald farm since I was about two years old. Britains zoo animals came a bit later on when I was about seven years old. Still have the Britains catalogues from 1965 to 2010! Looks like a fabulous forum. Chris |

Chris That's impressive, Chris! :) This is the perfect place to someone that loves animal replicas like you and you and your knowledge are surely very welcome here! :) I started recently with Britains figures and I confess that I'm having a lot of fun with these little vintage figures! :) |

Thanks for the welcome Willy. Yes, I have lots of interesting stuff accumulated over the years! Good luck in filling the gaps in your Britains catalogue collection. I agree it is best to wait for them to be at the right price. BTW I have found your site very useful. Chris |

| No thanks Chris, you are very welcome, we can need people like you here very much! Older people like we are, just have more knowledge on collecting these old brands as shown before here on the forum. Older catalogues are tending to be expensive, specially Britains, which is quit populair in the Netherlands. Those 1960's catalogues go between 25-50 euro per album. The newer ones go from 5-20 euro a piece... I hope my site helped you a lot, asking is free of course! _________________ http://www.collectorsquest.com/collector/1313/willybacoman

Hi Willy I once saw a 1960 Britains trade catalogue at a toy fair a few years ago which included a 'New additions' leaflet. Now the price ...... but please sit down first ......... £225! Chris |

| Haha Andreas, i think we should forget it, i can't remember either... Wow Chris, that price is huge! Even when those catalogues do tend to go high here to, i saw on ebay England, that Britains is often more expensive then here, which seems logical on one side... A known brand in the country of heritage does better there, as people know more about the brand. I often buy very cheap Britains stuff on ebay Germany, as the brand seems not to be interesting for collectors there so much... Yesterday we were talking about the deetail and vintage stuff, and the old colourations and plastics. Just today i had a package in with Britains and Hausser Elastolin models, including a springbuck in the older material, damaged, but not bad, and a keeper of course. Actually i buy most of the Britains lots for other collectors on the forum, so i can make them happy to. _________________ http://www.collectorsquest.com/collector/1313/willybacoman
