| Hong Kong figurines were mostly produced in the late 1960's and 1970's, and some in the early 1980's. After that they became China figurines. I do have the same lion, twice actually, but much smaller in the 1:64/1:72 scale, and made in China(probably early 1980's). they look very much like the lions that guide the entrances in Chinese buildings and hallways. | Thank you,Susanne I also have couple of this small lions, not my favorite actually. But this one is made of the strangest material,it's the only figure of that kind of plastic that I have.Anyway, thanks for the info. Here are some more: This is the oldest animal package I have,I remember that I got them when I was about four years old and I remember how the package looked like-it was half plastic with blue cardboard. They are my favorites of whole my collection,I know they don't worth much but to me they are priceless I would be soooo happy if someone could find a photo of this package,I'd like to see it again so badly. And also I am missing a giraffe It is small and plastic and in one light orange colour,if somebody have one to spare, let me know [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]And here are some bears,I got them in one huge lot of all kind of animals, they look realy bizzare in so many colours,my friend called them-Gay pride bears [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Some vintage horses,I also don't know anything about them [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] |

| Yes Susanne, my little lions do look the same as the bigger one, only slightly different. They are not the nicest indeed, but they have something special about them like i said, a real Chinse connection... I never saw this set of animals before, and neither one of those models, same for the bears in different colours, very nice old stuff! All of your horses are westernn and medievel horses for knights, and army. The smaller one on the front misses his footpatch, he is made by Jean Höffler Germany. The running horses in white and black on the right behind, and the black second row front left, are probably made in Hong Kong, but Britains copy's. And a lot of those horses are made in the USA in the 1960's or so. The standing lightbrown horse in the centre is a western horse made by Timpo Toys Scotland in the 1970's.

| Ninna, what is the figure in your Avatar ? Is it a horse ? I keep looking at it, but it is so small. Is it possible for you to send a larger picture of it, please ? |

| Reading English is a good practice . I started by reading the novels of Dick Francis in English. ( The one who always writes about a poor, brave and honest guy among crooks in the horse racing world.) They are so exiting, I just HAD to keep reading, and after a while it goes much easier |

| More old figurines, but not worth very much, so be carefull to pay to much for them... You should get them for a few cts each normally. Mainly because they are figurines from the 1970's, but mostly copies of more known brands. The 3 horses on the right are Britains copies again, from the cowboy series. Thoese were made by Britains in a higher quality, and in the Swoppets series, where you could change riders, and more parts, but in a lower quality. The most left black panther is a Prior Hong Kong model maybe, i have the spotted version, but it is marked as Prior to under the belly. The hippo's are produced in Hong Kong or Singapore in the 1970's, and i never saw a known brand who produced this model. The austrich and pelicans are Britains copies again... |
