Thanks Harriet! ^^ My old Haflinger has the good painting job, and thick chin I think (I can´t compare, only have one). It has black muzzle and some black around the eyes [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]_________________ Visit my collection gallery at [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Visit my art gallery at [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]I accept commissions!

Cool variations! I've always wondered just how they make the molds for manufacture in different countries at the same time. As I understand it (by which I mean "I vaguely remember something I read in a Breyer catalog"), the original sculpture is first cast in resin, and the production mold is made from this casting, which of course is destroyed in the process. Do they make several injection molds in one go and send one to China or wherever, or does the Chinese factory have to make a resin copy of a finished model and repeat the process from there?

Good question. There sertainly are several examples where the figueres vary if they are made in one country or another. As well known, the older models also often have a number molded under them, - 1 or 2 or, - I have a Classics-giraffe with no. 7. That must be the different molds, I think, Or the little spot of paint that many have under a foot

Some of my horses also have a number. I have always wondering what the meaning was... Maybe is something related to the molds used each time. _________________ Visit my collection gallery at [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Visit my art gallery at [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]I accept commissions!

| Subject: 13293 Lipizzaner gelding: sightly color variation Thu May 05, 2011 10:52 pm | |
| Today I went to the shop to see if I was able to find the no-blazed Haflinger gelding [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] and I didn´t find it, all of them had the blaze. But... I found a darker version of 13293 Lipizzaner gelding. The one I bought on 2005 is nearly white, made in China; and the new one (the one with the tag in the photo) is a darker grey with pink muzzle and darker sheath. _________________ Visit my collection gallery at [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Visit my art gallery at [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]I accept commissions!

Based on the many figurines I have with different numerals on the bottom, it appears that they indicate different variant types. The white hasanpaar, for instance, has, AFAIK, four painting variants, each numbered 1 through 4. At some point, Schleich discontinued this practice.

I think the newer one with his great black genital is nothing for the prude americans.

Thank you :) Suebeedo, I also thought that ^^ The lighter one was "born" in 2004, and the darker one in 2011 hehe schmidtchenschleich, details are important. Good pieces have ALL the details :) Susanne, don´t think so; I recently started to see that there are color variations, so I dn´t have many of them :) Maybe I should show you photos of all my color variations? _________________ Visit my collection gallery at [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Visit my art gallery at [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]I accept commissions!

I´m not sure if I should open a new topic, so I use this one. I hope it doesn´t matter :) Today I saw my friend and she gave the Haflinger to me! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]As you can see my friend´s one is on the left, and the blaze is not the only difference. Legs are more white than the other horse´s legs, and hooves are lighter too. I´m happy with this addition! ^^ _________________ Visit my collection gallery at [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Visit my art gallery at [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]I accept commissions!
