I am happy that the Nayab Fox looks just like the Nayab Sheep. See here! Humans making eagles play with foxes! Hey Roger, how about pictures of your newest fox, huh? Is he the same as your white red fox? Here is the boxed and painted MArx US red fox! That was a fantastic surprise gift from Carolynn! I love the vintage looking, the old fashioned draw of the box and mainly your gesture! Does it sound great in English??? This Marx painted fox is much smaller than the unpainted but uses exactly the same mould. The pic donnot make justice but I love this little fox! Thanks!!! i'm vaguely remembering that picture now, but ew. As i'm getting older, i'm getting increasingly creeped out by that era's apparent glorification in art of animals' being killed. I basically shrug off that nature is "red in claw and tooth", but to make it a genre of art... Of course, my squeamishness does not extend to Stubbs! that said, what a fascinating piece. So intriguing that the painting was (apparently) used as inspiration for a toy! _________________ carolynn

Yes , here : [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Uhh, Roger, that video, I only saw the beginning . You are right, Carolynn, it is a strange model for a toy. I don`t remember it scaring us, but I don`t remember it being part of out plays either. That is probably why it survived almost without a scratch, as the platic it rather brittle |

| I'm sorry! I didn't want to hurt you! ...anyway the idea of making a toy where a eagle play with a fox was not mine! ;Susanne, I think this series of boxed and painted little Marx US figures was started in 1969, a little after the regular series! It is a fantastic find and I also love the box, there's a small text in the box that reflects what were at this moment, the more relevant things to know about the animal. :) I also have a mule deer in abox, from Carolynn! A big Hurray! |

| Congratulations with your new foxes, Kristie No wonder you love taking pictures, they are always so wonderful I agree the eagle-and-fox is a very strange toy. Why on earth they made it I don`t know, but the attitude to children was different then, I suppose Could you imagine one of the big brands making one these days ? They make hunters, soldiers, shooting bandits and horrible monsters...but here there is not much left to imagination. It makes me think, how I had nightmares for months after seing " Animal farm" when I was a child. Even now when I see a film with murders, kidnaps, explotions, it does not bother me much ( I never, ever see war films though), but if a dog or cat is hurt, I get really upset , - or a child, of course ! |
