CollectA 2012 Line-up Announcement: Wildlife, Sea, Woodlands, Prehistoric etc - Page 3 Empty
PostSubject: Re: CollectA 2012 Line-up Announcement: Wildlife, Sea, Woodlands, Prehistoric etc   CollectA 2012 Line-up Announcement: Wildlife, Sea, Woodlands, Prehistoric etc - Page 3 EmptyThu Nov 03, 2011 7:11 am

After that unbelivable, phantastic list of animals collecta is publishing in 2012, I will start to collect this brand immediately !

Four magnificant antelopespecies in ONE year ? That's amazing, and give us antelope fans new hopes for the upcoming years, so hopefully, colleta will produce more antelopes.

A Striped Hyena, a Red panda and, most important of them all, a Red River Hog...I can't belive it. So hopefully, all these models will look great.

So let's forget the 2012 trash line of Schleich, and look forward a bright future with collecta and the other brands like Mojo.... Very Happy

The Okapi calf is much better than the Bullyland one. The Bully Okapi calf was used as a bad example for CollectA to avoid making.

You will like the Okapi calf I am sure. Also the colour isnt actually black but a very dark brown.....

I hope, the okapi calf will be da mix between dark brown and black, okai calfs are not really black in colour, I've seen a lot of okapi calfs in my life, not only one of them was black...

@Schleichzoo. Any informations how the antelopes will look like ?

I don't know why, but with the help of Numaan I'm sure we will have very nice okapis! Wink Laughing
In fact we are used to see some brands making calves only as little cute replicas of the parents. It is changing fortunately. We saw it clearly in Schleich, not because they don't know how does a calf looks like but because they are a hard selling brand. It is not the case of a okapi, but in some species the calf donnot look like an adulte and Schleich was afraid of kids not be able to understand which calf would fit with his parents! geek
Only two little words to Bullyland. The brand was the first modern brand making an okapi calf so the brand had no chance to use any other as a reference and also because it is the only brand that was brave enough to make a puma baby, even toyish it is not a miniature of an adulte and it is the only one. cat

Yes I have seen all the wildlife models but cannot post any pictures until the official ones are released. Please be patient, I will get them to you as soon as I can. I have only seen photos of prototype images and you must remember that even when the prototype are intricately detailed the outcome is slightly different with the eventual plastic model which is mass produced. From what I have seen they are great but I am also waiting to see official photos just like you. A handful of wildlife models are still being finalised. Thank you.

I was hoping for an Okapi Male, female and baby but an Okapi male came first 'to tes the waters' and if it is successful then we may get a female in 2013. The male of a lot of animals species are always more impressive i think - sometimes you get a mother and baby and sometimes a father and baby. I am happy either way, but I do hope we get a mother the year after.

Both Okapi's are standing.

Of the four antelope -

Waterbuck standing (similar to current Schleich Kudu model)

Sable Standing/walking (being finalised)

Eland walking

Wildebeest running/galloping with tail flicked in the air.
