| Here is my newest tree, it is a young strangler fig. I was going to make it bigger but the space I have left for trees on the diorama is so little that to make it at all and keep it I had to decide if I was going to take a different tree away or just make it smaller, I chose smaller. | I love this fantastic new model you have made When I see there is news from our expert gardener, it is always SO exiting to see what you have made now, - and as always it is a great and beautyful surprise As often before I had to google to find more info about it, and was surprised to see that I once had a cute, little potted plant that was a cousin to a strangler tree , - remote cousin, I think, a Ficus Benjamina, - very common pottet plant Poor, beautyful support tree, it is fortunate for it that it is a young strangler |

Cool, but is not trunk only one color, it could be a futururistic tree, when things on earth have evolved

| Thanks for the comments, I am glad everyone likes the tree, it stands about 20 inches tall and I have the perfect spot for it right at the creeks edge near the back.
Adrian, the strangler is very young and it's trunk is a solid color (greyish green and looks more like a vine then a tree at this stage), but most trees have multiple colors in them. This tree is stressed by the fig and the bark is stripping away, the under color of the fresh sapwood is very light yellow and the bark is a darker golden yellow, as the bark strips away the sapwood shows through. |
