| My Papo Okapi arrived this morning, I'm very pleased with him, lovely detail. He is quite a bit smaller than the Schleich one, but as you know I love Okapis so that doesn't matter to me. Enjoy the pics [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]With the Schleich Okapi [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]The Papo one is more detailed then the Schleich one... and then all my Okapis together! | Great okapi Harriet! I love the Papo model too, although i still miss him, but that is just a matter of time. Are the other two okapi's made by yourself, or who made them? I like the lying position. Ana made two okapi's in the right scale for me, and i still have an okapi-calf in order, in lying position. |

I posted a special thread for them in "Custom animals" I think it was when you were away though, so you probably heven't see it yet.

I still do not own a Okapi model Thank you Rio! WH, on LG you said the eyes looked tired, because of those funny black lines above and below. Well, I've painted the black over with acrylic now, here's a picture. I also painted the eyes in a little around the edge. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] |

| Good job harriet! By the way, you said that the Papo okapi is smaller then the Schleich one, which is true of course, but the Schleich one is too big, and that is why i let Ana made a pair okapi's in the right scale(1;20). [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]This pic was of one of the male one of the pair, together with the Schleich one on the right to compare, and some more pics. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Here are they without the Schleich model [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] |

| Thanks for the pictures Willy. I guess the Papo one is the most realistic in size then. He's smaller than my handmade models too. So your Okapis that Ana made (they are beautiful) are they in scale with the Schleich zebras? I mean if they were real would they be in scale? I know Okapis can reach six foot at the shoulder and Grant's Zebra is around 4 and a half feet (which I think the Schleich are Grant's). |

| Welcome Harriet. You know that the Schleich scale is not correct most of the time. Sometimes too big, sometimes too small. The Papo and Safari okapi are in the right scale i think. Here are some pictures of the okapi-male made by Ana, and the Grants(yes indeed) zebra stallion made by Schleich. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
