the muntjac doesn't like to stand up unfortunately but I think there are ways to sort that. I've had the same problem with that Muntjac figure. It's quite delicate. But -- at least in my experience -- it will stand on a completely flat, smooth surface. The worst figures in terms of having them stand -- again, in my experience -- are some of the Noah's Pals. The Ostriches (the female especially) will barely stand and the Roans are pretty unstable. Even the Noah's Pals Muntjacs are a little wobbly. Enough of my ramblings though. Once again, Steve, your Muntjac and the Snow leopard are fantastic. Congratulations!! |

Good to know Scot. Are they made of similar material to the muntjac? I have trouble with some of my two legged dinos but fortunatley none of my animals other than this one. Hi Steve. The noah's pals seem to be made from a soft, pliable plastic; not like the Kaiyodo. This helped because I was able to work with the female ostrich's legs and now she can stand for a couple minutes before falling over (rather than not being able to stand at all). The Kaiyodos, with that really hard plastic, cannot be adjusted it seems. From what I can tell, the problem with the Kaiyodo Muntjac is that the legs are so thin, so close together (and of course on is lifted, so that only three are on the ground). Kaiyodo seems to have sacrificed stability for realism. I'm guess I'm fine with that trade-off: the muntjac is beautiful in part precisely because those legs are thin and aren't spread far apart. |

| I'm happy with the trade-off too! I don't want to force anything incase it breaks, so it'll stay leaning.
Thanks for the info and pitty about your ostrich. Have you ever thought of gluing it to a base? It just popped in my head - I remember a similar topic on DTF. _________________ More pictures of my Collection... [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] ...Latest update 08/03/20 |

| Huh, that's an interesting idea (gluing it to a base). Honestly, it had never even crossed my mind before, so I'm glad you raised the possibility. I'm not sure I would do it just because I get nervous about making any serious changes to the figures as they are, but I going to give this some more thought. Thank you so much for suggesting the idea Steve!

I thought I'd give making a base for my muntjac a go. It's not glued on so theres no changes to the figure at all, easily lifts off.
