PostSubject: New trees making their way to Phil's Indian Diorama   New trees making their way to Phil's Indian Diorama EmptyMon Aug 16, 2010 8:14 pm

Hello Friends,

I wanted to show some pictures of a couple of Indian tree species that will be traveling this week across the country to Phil's Indian diorama.

This two trees will join the banyan tree that Phil already has set up.[img][You must be registered and logged in to see this image.][/img]

I can't say which tree is better! The one with the stumpy trunk reminds me of a baobab, one of my favourite trees, and the right one looks so rare and exotic! monkey

Thank you Wildheart, it is actually just a fig without any aerial roots, but this particular species has a bottle shaped trunk, one of my favorite areas of the tree, but very different than a baobab, the trunk of the baobab is 6 to 8 times bigger and the structure much different.[img][You must be registered and logged in to see this image.][/img]

This is a baobab model, much different tree.

Thank you Ana, Christophe and Amy

We will see where Phil places them, but i'm sure he will find the nicest spot.

Ana this particular Baobab did not make its way to Phil, but i do not have it anymore, it is in a private collection, another collector that only buys trees etc, i still have a madagascar baobab but it will not be in the diorama, it will probably be in in a shelve above the zoo.
