| Hi Sauroid! Congrats in the first place! :) Your birds are differently painted then mine, but probably from the same maker or brand. I think it is Nayab China. Your first bird is for sure not a parrot, see my tread over the link that Susanne gave you here. I was searching for days before i decided to give this species a name. |

| thanks for the nice words Susanne. hi willy. i compared the size of my "racket-tail parrot" with your figure (the astrapia) but mine is smaller with different shaped beak, though they have the same paint scheme. im using the scale of the peacock for comparison. and thanks for the info regarding the company (Nayab). i wish i had more bird figures like what you have. |

Forget about the scale, because that isn't correct anyway, not your models, mine neither, but when the makers make models like that, it is often hard to find out which species it it. The fact that the beak is different, means only that the mould is not good anymore or so... My model has a more pointed beak. Christophe made my love for bird-models only bigger, and that is why i am hunting for them much more lately! |

| that is very true Willy. china made figures may look nice at first glance but very lacking in other aspect (accurate species representation, etc.). china companies have very big potential to make superior figures but instead, they opt for cheaper production for the sake of low price. the japan figures are so much more superior in terms of species and sculpt. if i could only get more bird figures made by kaiyodo et al (i only have one so far and will post pics soon along with other kaiyodo animals). |

| China figure mould is up to standard. Only thing there to be educated in dimension, proportion and paint job. china still on learning curve. |

| The Chinese companies have still time to learn, but i hopethat they will change their polictics soon. The big and known companies having their models made in China to, so there is possibility enough i guess... |

| hi. these are my new china-made figures. the sculpt is pretty decent but unfortunately, the paint-job is sloppy which is usual for the price-level. lioness [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]female gorilla [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]hippo [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]zebra [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]giraffes [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.](if only they were painted decently...) i would like to know if these are original moulds and not copies. thanks for looking friends. |

| thanks everyone for appreciating these humble china figures. underneath the awful paint-job are very nice figures. yes Susanne, im planning to have them repainted someday. and roger, im always on the lookout for decent figures from china-based company. every few hundreds of horrible china figures, you'd find a handful of nice/acceptable figures. (im not a toy snob, i find beauty even in the most nondescript figures.) |

| Nice! What size are they? i got the Gorilla, or maybe a mini version, in my trading box somewhere. Maybe also this hippo, at least with different paintwork. I like the pose of the lioness as well, i she's big enough, she'd be perfect fo getting reworked a partner for my asian male. |

| For some reason, I love the odd colouring of the giraffes... They remind me of Pippi Longstocking's horse or something else from a storybook... So cute.
I have to agree with previous comments, the pose of the lioness is fantastic! _________________ Krista || zombiebambiraptor.blogspot.com

(the smaller gorilla and smaller hippo come in the same zoo animals bucket, if i remember correctly). i'll try to pose them with the mr.schleich (hans?) figure and take some pics again. thanks for the nice comments PeGe, Krista and Harriet. |
