| I've never seen it before, he's lovely Chris!
Is this the little Fox you are looking for Roger? No wonder it's hard to find if it was only made for a year. _________________ Harriet My *Collection* My *Handmade Animal Sculpture*

| Chris, that is very nice from you taking these pictures of that little and rare beauty! Nice to see its size with other figures, mainly the wolf exactly as I wanted. Your Britains have a fantastic looking and the fox looks perfect for that scale! :) Maybe that figure will be forever in my wish list but it is nice to have something to search. Thanks also for sharing all the information about a wonderful and remarkable brand that I was only able of knowing due to this forum and its fantastic members! |

| That's a great little fox. It is unusual to see one not running away from the hunters.
Oh wow, I know something Sue & Leslie don't! Your unidentified metal fox I believe is by Pixieland-Kew. It's a great one I've been watching for but it tends to go at too high of a price or the paint is in too bad condition for my taste. _________________ Tim :) ToyAnimal.info - The Toy Animal Collecting Wiki Animoblog Animobil.info Playmobil Animals

| Thanks, Tim! We have a Kuzu catalogue but no catalogue for Pixyland/Kew. The best we can do is Norman Joplin's "Great Book of Hollowcast Figures", where this fox is pictured on the "Unidentified" page. Thanks again!!

I have never seen the full set and don't remember this set being in the shops during the 1970's. Like you Willy I am hoping to find this tree set one day! Chris |

| I thought he was plastic because of the seams, but the texture of the paint almost had me doubting myself. He's great!!! :)

| I have it, but in pieces. I cut it up when I was a kid.
Who want's to play with a tree containing an owl, a cat, a squirrel, two doves, rabbits, a swan, three geese and a fox up on a branch?
It's on sale on E-bay sometimes like here:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BRITAINS-RARE-CARDED-SMALL-ANIMALS-AND-BIRDS-SEALED-PACKET-1972-/390418781131?pt=UK_Toys_Games_ToySoldiers_EH&hash=item5ae6c5d3cb
and I saw it at the Toy Soldier Show in London in march this year.
The animals are not very good, I think it's maybe the strangest and most poorly sculptured thing Britain's ever made.

| I agree with you to Lennart. A price of 30 English pound is almost harsh... I would have done probably the same wheni had owned a tree like that, you can play with a tree full of so much different animal, and it was ment to be to take off the animals of course. :) _________________ http://www.collectorsquest.com/collector/1313/willybacoman

| Here is a picture of the rest of the set - well nearly: Britains tree with animals by Chris*4, on Flickr This was a new addition in the Britains 1972 catalogue but it didn’t last long in the farm range! Reference number: 2000 had 8 detachable animals from a tree plus five that were supposed to stay on the tree! On this example I am missing two doves on the upper branch and the fox. As you know I already have the fox. _________________ Chris |
