Ralf, did you do that yourself, or is it one of the four new Schleich figures ?

I just got a notification from Schleich that their 75th anniversary promotion is that if you buy one of their featured items, like the new safari air plane , you cut the coupon off the box, mail it in and they send you a zebra colored animal. So far they have a pig, giraffe, kangaroo , and penguin . They are just repaints of the old figures still, but they are very interesting looking for the collectors. I do not know if they are not advertising it yet or, but it is a promotion that they are doing starting in September when the fall items are released.

If anyone is really interested they are shown here:

I think you missed something here Phil... Shocked
We were already discussing this news in another tread about the "specials" Phil...
And some of us already have 4 or more of those coupons you need to get these special items. Very Happy
What Ralf did, is to make his own "special item" , and there is only one of them, so very special! cheers

By the way, fantastic job Ralf, and you all have my blessings to make many zebroid-species, as i love zebra's! cheers cheers cheers

The larger(normal coloration) anteater looks really really good! Is that a custom?

So, is it a custom(the normal coloration) anteater you have pictured?
Instead of ridiculous zebra striped anteaters, I think Schleich should work on making more different animal species figures instead of weird repaints!

Great custom!
Except Schleich is doing a promotion for their 75th anniversary with the
ridiculous zebra striped animals(pig, penguin, giraffee).
They should have had some kind of a brand new figure instead!

I know Schleich is doing this Baltimore Wink and I don't buy any plane to have one because I still don't have enough money to buy the models I really want. But I like Ralf's idea to make his own zebranimals for the 75th anniversary, it's really fun Laughing

Nice idea making a zebra anteater.
Does anyone knows why Schleich is choosing zebra painting and not giraffe painting? 14001 Schleich is a giraffe!!!

Hello baltimore zoo,
I agree with you completely. Although I understand to refer of the zebra stripes for the 75-year anniversary, I can the claim of Schleich to produce at possible realistic animal models not to comprehend this action. I would have liked even better real animal models, or at least with existing characters a natural paint, such e.g. a quagga, a black Jaguar or the old ostrich male repainted as hen. This would certainly have made more sense.

I thank you for the compliment of my repainted normal coloration anteater :). I will show some pictures of this repaint in the next time Wink.

Question about repainting. Do you just paint over the figure or strip it then repaint?
