| I'm really conflicted about these more recent CollectA horses. They looked great in photos. I finally ordered some several months ago -- the Buckskin Lusitano Stallion and the Black Thoroughbred Mare -- and I confess I was thrown off seeing them in person. They were more rubbery than I expected and at the time, didn't grab me the way the pictures had. But now, every time I walk by the Thoroughbred, she catches my eye and I've come to like her more. And I keep staring at pictures of the Bay Quarter horse that just came out (pictured above). I think I'm going to have to get it! (It's a 'him' if I understand correctly, even though stores describe him as a mare.)
Thank you for the pictures Silvia! I think I'm definitely going to pick up that Quarter horse.

| I'm officially in love with the bay roan mare... Guess I'll have to order the pony* too, she's adorable! * - I refuse to call her a Haflinger because she clearly isn't - Haffies are sturdy small horses, more like Highlands or Fjords in build. This one? Maybe a sportpony. _________________ Stuff you should be reading:

| Here in Portugal many horses are with bent legs too! Of course I mean these from CollectA. They are experiencing some hard times with these figures. It is not always easy to give the best. Some of them are beautiful and I believe the brand will find a solution. |

| Thanks for showing these photos, Silvia! I have the Quarter Horse on my wishlist, but I see what you mean about the paint jobs. The manes on the QH are somewhat sloppy, no?

| I really like the red roan one (Red roan = bay + roan; strawberry roan = chestnut + roan). The roaning is pretty well done, it has surprised me a lot! Honestly, I expected a bad roaning paintjob and I must say this one is really good.
The "Haflinger" one is not a Hflinger. The body, the head, the legs... She could fit a fat Welsh, maybe D section. But not a Haflinger. Her paintjob is not really good at all, look at the pasterns and the tail. The hooves paint is on the pasterns too, and the tail seems too dirty! In adition, her ears are also painted with the mane paint.
Kristie, I don´t know the meaning of "sloopy"... But I can tell you that the QH´s manes have dissapointed me a lot. Specially the chestnut´s one.
About the breeds... The QH and the Lipizzaner fit their breds, but not the others.
I´ll post better pics tonight and I´ll try to tell you wich breds I think are better for them. _________________ Visit my collection gallery at http://sylobe.deviantart.com/gallery/26714361

Oh sorry, I'm not very good with horse colours glad you like it though! This one and the grey shire are the only two I'll be getting I think. _________________ Harriet My *Collection* My *Handmade Animal Sculpture*

| I´m sorry I couldn´t post some better pics yesterday... I had no time. And now I´m going to a trip, so I´m afraid you´ll have to wait until the weekend to see them! _________________ Visit my collection gallery at http://sylobe.deviantart.com/gallery/26714361

Silvia, I think it's just a typo and that Kristie meant that the paint-work on the QH's manes is sloppy. I'm curious if that is what is disappointing to you about the QH or whether it is also the way the QH manes are sculpted. I was sort of looking forward to getting the Bay, but now I'm not sure. |
