Harriet's Papo additions

Along with the Schleich Tapir I bought this, it's beautiful!  I'm so happy with it.  I was going to get the Gnu as well, but they didn't have it in stock.




And for size with the Schleich Gnu

A beautiful model indeed, but...I wouldn't love to have it in my collection. Because of the size, of course.
It won't fit my African diorama, and there's no sense in hiding such a grandiose figurine in a "sediment chamber" - that's how I call the shelf where I store figures which aren't or can't be placed in my displays. :)

Congratulation Harriet, the kudu is great and the gnu won't disappointed you

Such a grandiose figure could easily find a place on a small shelf with other big hoofed models like the papo gnu or the Schleich Thomson's gazelle

No no no I don't speak about the arabian oryx

But I haven't got a spare small shelf that would be easy to observe... And if I had one, I'd better move there my S. American display :)

Yes, I ordered them from "Toys n Hobby". Their postage is cheap and their prices are good too.

Beautiful. I got mine in a trade with the gnu, but I have neglected taking pictures of everything. I am working hard to finish my building so I can get all my animals displayed and photographed. A definate must have for any collector.

Well Kiryl, we all know you like to have a "nearly in scale" collection and that it matters a lot.

So, here is a pic I made with :

Papo gnu 1:17 scale
Papo great kudu 1:16 scale
Bullyland topi 1:14 scale
Safari oryx 1:13 scale
Bullyland Grant's gazelle 1:16 scale
Schleich Thomson's gazelle 1:12 scale. The biggest scale of the batch !

And now here is a pic with the Schleich black rhino 1:25 scale it seems the problem is not the Papo great kudu

Though, as my African display is 95% made up of Schleich animals, any newcomer should comply with their scales... So I just can't place there a Kudu that is twice bulkier than my rhino, or twice higher than my gnu.

Oh, yes, to have figures sized like these would be perfect!
Though, the gazelle's scale isn't striking my eye, 'cause the figure is rather small in general (and I don't place it too close to the rhino :)). But the Kudu that is twice higher than every African figure except giraffes will look awkward in my display...

Yes Kiryl, I saw the Thommies were far from the rhino .

But I thought it was funny and interresting to do this.

I'm working on new shelves for me and maybe I will find enough place to make four different Savannah shelves :

One with Giraffes, Bullyland elephant, gnus, zebras...
One with the big games
One with the antelopes
One for a lion family

We will see

i like to see it next to the schleich,s kudu.....
